Femalefirst Poster Goes

Post by Colin »

Alf Huckham, one of many Femalefirst members has been banned and all his posts deleted. I think he may try another name, or post as a guest. His favourite thread was "Why can't men wear skirts?".
My opinion is that because Femalefirst is a business and the forum is just there to attract customers in to buy things, they can't afford to lose paying customers by having them bullied and frightened away by an errant member. I suspect that a few people here have been put off FF by Alf and also, a fair bit of revenue lost from distressed customers in general.

I hope you are all well here.
Colin.

You liked Alf too, huh? I definitely agree he was a horse's ass. Or maybe worse. And he will definitely not be missed. I may stop by FF more often now that I don't have to be verbally insulted by him every time I post. :censored:

Yes - I noticed this person posting on FF quite a lot. I'm truly surprised it took this long for the website to ban him.

Personally, I couldn't never quite figure out why he was so anti-MIS. My conclusion was that "the lady doth protest too much." (If my Shakespeare is correct?)

When I used to read this subject, it was already upto 76 pages - however most of the posts were Alf's 'MEN DO NOT WEAR SKIRTS. FACT' and 'Bump' messages  .

They should add a new topic "Why don't men wear skirts?" instead of 'can't'.

Alf was posting 24-7, I'm surprised he managed to get any work done if he was in regular employment

Indeed! That's a splendid approach and one that might bear pursuit.

What makes one believe that (1) he was for real and, if so, (2) that he was gainfully employed? (We really need a classic "duck-and-cover" smiley....)

I was posting at FF as kilt/skirt/skort.
My last post was on April 9 - post #36
At that time there were over 80 some pages of posts.
I broke it down into a statistics and alf was posting better that 2/3rds of a time.
A page consisted of 15 posts and 10 or more of those were from alf.
Before alf was banned there where over 150 pages of posts and with the removal
of his posts the topic "Why can't men wear skirts?" shrunk to 104.

Here is copy of my last post at FF with the data: currently on page 50 Re: Why can't men wear skirts?

Kilty Col -

KC you better be careful - Alf is one of those old
crudgemugeons who fits your statement to a 'T'.
"""
I'd love to know who makes all the rules about who can or can't wear what. They obviously have nothing better to do. I'm sure that the dress code freedom advocates could run rings round them.
I've noticed that the people who advocate skirts for men carefully put together reasoned arguments, whereas those against have no reasoned justification, but just shout abuse.

Alf can do no better than to throw bricks and change his exhaulted title from
time to time - now he is some sort of demigod.

Alf - your anti-skirt agenda is going to be the death of you.
You really are the great wizard of OZ standing behind that curtin
yelling into the microphone "Men can not and will not wear skirts!"
Well we have pulled the curtin aside and voila you have been
exposed again and again. Your predjudice not withstanding -
your blood pressure has to be way off scale and I am surprized
that you are still around to huff and puff on your brick soapbox!

It is time for the moderator (silent one) to lock out this thread
and end it!

It comes as no further surprize that men can and do wear skirts.

No more ranting and raving.

There is more to life than the clothing we wear.

So much for the fig leafs that Adam and Eve wear!

What is even more galling is the moderator of FF "Silent One" (aptly named) condoned his activity !
One thing alf sure knew how to beat a dead horse to death !
Glad he is gone and now maybe the FF forum can be of some worthwhile merit.

Alf's other problem was his famed "troll" hunting, reality is that he found few if any trolls (the truth being that he himself was a troll) but there were a lot of innocent victims who had their accounts deleted including myself. I made about 6 perfectly normal posts, simply "I'm new etc", Alf instantly responded wih a "**** off", I I did not respond, he then noitced that I came from Newcsstl-under-Lyme and asked about James Whale who I had never heard of, turned out this was a disabled Stoke fan that according to Alf everyone in Newcastle-under-Lyme had heard of. My account and posts were quickly deleted by admin, Alf continued his campaign of abuse and harrassed and drove an innofensive transvestite poster called "SKy-Sissy" of the forum and posted that he hoped that Sky-Sissy died of cancer. Professor Tendril objected to that posting and so did LindieLulu, Professor Tendril's was deleted and his posting removed and Alf abused LindieLulu. Admindid nothing and I seem to recall that you Colin were less than proper in this matter and actually encouraged Alf in his postings and it was not you who posted about the commecial effects of Alf's behaviour on Female First, it was in fact myself as a guest and I note that you continue on Female First in the apologist vein for Alf.

The truth is that Alf Huckham is an ignorant oaf and Female First are well rid of him, its just a pity that it took so long and they deleted so many proper users accounts rather than deal with Alf Huckham and remove his as soon as he made his revolting comment about cancer to Sky-Sissy.

Interesting to note that things seem to have improved on FemaleFirst since Alf's removal save for the continued postings from his apologists (who I suspect are doing much oof the remaining trolling), a good thing perhaps that TemaleFirst seem to be doing the moderating themselves and appear to have removed the admin rights from certain individuals who I suspect were protecting Alf Huckham and removing innocent posters who Alf Huckham took a dislike to.

This thread has simply served to remind us all what a superior establishment the Skirt Café is.

If you're still not convinced check out this video of the coffee facilities I recently found in another establishment.

Have fun,

Ian.

Glad you enjoyed it! I guess I ought to apologise to anyone grossed out by the "video"....

Sorry, I just had a feeling this thread was getting a little too heavy and thought some levity was in order.

I have posted this on Female First but in case it gets deleted there, there are still at least two apologists for him there who have steadfastly refused to accept that he did anything wrong , here is my post .. I will apologise to this board as I am a woman, not a skirt wearing man.
Guest wrote: Hi, good post but way off the mark. Alf used to come here to have a good laugh and a wind-up. It was his way of chilling out.
Alf runs his own businesses and by all accounts is a very successful individual.
As one of Alf's victims (remember he told me to **** *** yet it was my account that was deleted and not his) I find this even more reprehensible, my account has never been re-instated nor have FF contacted me, that others dare to say that "Alf goes after trolls with a passion (H. Franklin Layne) is again reprehensible when in fact you actually admit that Alf was in fact a trouble making troll who was stalking and victimising people to "chill out", FF does seem to still have some cleaning up to do. Colin you have redeemed yourself in my eyes, sadly as I have said a couple of Alf apologist have not and are still peddaling the "Alf the victim" and "Alf the troll-hunter" lines, looking it as I have said FF does need to lock out a couple more accounts if not for the good of the victims at least it should be done for the good of the forum.

First off, "welcome aboard", Brooksie; there is precisely no reason to apologise for being a woman as women are perfectly welcome here.

Folks like "Alf" (for we do not believe that to be his real name) exist in the on-line space, and have done so since the days of BBS systems attached to dial-up modems -- and they have been a royal nuisance all the while. This seems to be primarily an on-line behaviour because, as one would imagine, that sort of behaviour in the physical world is likely to get one punched in the nose (or worse). It's also why on-line communities have moderators to serve as the local police.

One of the things that makes me proud of the SkirtCafe community is its congeniality and civility; behaviours like "Alf"'s will not be tolerated even momentarily. Sure, we get the occasional argument here from time to time, but for the most part discourse is remarkably civil -- more so that in most other on-line fora I've seen or participated in. So pull up a chair, grab a mug of whatever suits you, and join in.

It's worth bearing in mind that some really accomplished people have made great successes of themselves in the world of business -- and have still been utter cads. The question is, "At what point do they sacrifice their humanity and morality to promote their 'success'?" And, "Would you do business with somebody that behaves in such manners?"
