What do you think of this skirt?

Constructive criticism welcome.

To get some privacy, the pictures does not include my face.

I think it goes well with khaki long socks or probably boots, but I don't have some currently.

It says U.S. ARMY. Mess with the best, die like the rest.

On the left it says MILITARY.

I've been wanting to post pics here since I was 17. But I was afraid for some reason. Now I'm 21.

I'm still shy of going out right now however. Aside from living in the Philippines where a lot of the people are gay, I might get raepd.

Markxchan: From what I can see in the pic, I think you look wonderful in that skirt. Too bad you don't show much of the rest of your body: you seem to have nice, slender figure (and great legs!). Now... that being said, I don't know how things are there in Philipines, but I would strongly advise that, if it really is your first-ever outing in a skirt, to try a longer one first (just above or below the knees).

I'd add: maybe something considered "masculine", like a kilt, sarong, or whatever makes you feel confident. Not that the mini-skirt is wrong. No, not at all! On the contrary! By all means: wear it! But even for a young female, it sometimes takes an amount of bravery to wear a miniskirt for her first outings. Once you've worn a knee on ankle-length skirt several times (in front of your girlfriend, parents, relatives, friends) you'll have summoned enough confidence to wear the miniskirt (and you'll know about the circumstances, if any, in which it's not really a good idea to wear it).

I agree... boots would look great with it. I'm not into anything even remotely "military" (my skirts rather have flower-patterns), but I must admit that yours is a really nice skirt.

Again: I cannot tell how people will react in your country. All I can say is that I've travelled a lot, and I've "skirted" in front of widely diverse kinds of collectivities. I've concluded that reactions are quite similar in the different countries I've visited (I've never been to Asian nations like yours, though). As for the "lot of gay people" in Philippines... there are lots of gay people everywhere! Most of my own friends are gay, and I haven't been raped! ... yet :D As a matter of fact, my guess is that, if you have any gay friend, he or she might rather give you support in your new venture.

take Care,

I agree with Juan. While your legs definitely suggest that you can pull it off, it is for sure a really dramatically short skirt and you might feel more comfortable in something a bit longer for your first time out wearing a skirt. You're already going to be a little bit nervous and you'll want to be as confident as possible, so maybe something just above the knees would work.

Also, it looks like you're wearing a camo shirt with the skirt, you may want to consider a solid green or black for some contrast?

However, you should wear what makes you comfortable and congrats on the courage to post this picture!

Markxchan:
I am 40+ in Tennessee am in a very back home farm family community so I fully understand your reserves.
However I have found being skirted at my home inside and out daily is a big help.
I thought if I posted a pic of my mini-est skirt you could see the no big deal about posting pics and catch on to the way these guys can help out. By seeing the whole gives one the easiest method of helping in the smallest way.
By reading the posts on these pages I feel you can see that there are no sexual pressures by no means - which is in honestly the underlying cause of all our apprehensions. As you stated there is a large gay influence in your area and this has been a cause for concern. By opening up here and letting the members work with you, you may be amazed at how much your skirted comfort develops.
Wishing you good fortune -

Definitely too short for me. My opinion, but it's up to you.

Hi,

It is really good to see new members from places other than North America or Europe. I love the skirt and I think that it looks very good. If we all accept that skirts are for men as well as women then why should we limit our sense of fashion or style to what might be perceived as "manly" if skirts them selves are traditionally perceived as "manly"? So a short skirt is just as appropriate for a man as a woman unless of course you hate your legs!

Mark, if you post in pics and looks that sub-forum is members only. No guests can see what you post in there. It's pretty safe to post pics of yourself in that forum. Seeing just the skirt and thighs is like looking in a catalog. We have no idea about who the model was. Lop off your head if you don't trust the site but couldn't you give us a slight bit more of your persona?? :D :D :D :D :D

I don't think anyone was suggesting that the skirt wasn't appropriate for a man, in fact it was even stated that such a length was just as daring for girls to wear it. I know I personally wouldn't wear such a short skirt, not because I'm a man, but because my upper thighs just wouldn't be flattered by it at all. It looks good on the poster, I just would like to see more of him to make a true judgement.

I think the decision to label a skirt "manly or too fem" has really to do with the age of the man wearing it. I'm 67, soon to be 68 and when I was in the formative years of my grammar school and high school there were no "pants for women" that were worn by any females other than women in the workplace that needed trousers for safety in their jobs or such usages, even the female police or armed services females didn't wear pants as a normal thing, they wore skirts. So people like me saw only women in skirts and if we liked skirts then, it was the styles of that time we liked. That's why I like straight skirts and full skirts with petticoats. Only in later years have I gotten interested in "cargo skirts" or other skirts for hiking or doing active outside things.

I had to actually be in a place where men wore skirts as a regular thing before I even thought such a thing was possible after my schooling was over. ie: Tonga, Fiji, Hawaii and American Samoa. I just wish I'd never been forced to stop wearing skirts after I was 12. As I've related in the past, my Mom kept me in skirts from birth to around age 12 with her home schooling and the fact that I was the only child my parents had that lived past age 6 out of 7 tries. She thought I was "very pretty" as I'd been born with 2 foot long white-blond hair. I still have some pictures of myself at age 1 with waist length hair. She had all those girls clothes that she'd bought for previous babies that didn't survive past 6. Non-compatible blood types was the reason for that. My Dad was A+ and my Mom was Orh-, which are completely incompatible for having children. I'm A-..All my siblings were blue babies as was I..Born dead, the rest died within 6 years and I lived. Go figger. 5 female fetuses and 2 male fetuses. I was born dead too, but was revived as was 2 sisters who didn't last past age 6. Today, in the USA my parents would have been urged not to have children. If there'd been such a thing in 1941, my mom probably would have had my sex changed. But that possibility wasn't common knowledge until Cristopher Jorgenson did it in 1954 and became Kristine Jorgenson.

I was definitely a male, but as I was raised nearly female in my early years, I'd probably never have known any different. :D

These days the mom is given a shot of Rhogam to prevent the her antibodies from attacking the unborn child. My wife herself is O- and whereas I am A+, and we had two healthy kids.

Even without treatment, it's not usual for the first birth to be okay, but later pregnancies be miscarried. King Henry VIII's first wife, Catherine of Aragon, was suspected to be O-. She gave birth to a daughter, but all later pregnancies were stillborn.

Like it. My new favourite combination with something that short/tight (and depending on the temperature!) is a pair of footless tights and a pair of thigh length socks
( these in fact: http://www.sockdreams.com/_shop/pages/s ... ID_323.php )

Hi

I really like the short skirt on you. If I was 21yrs old, I would wear that, but since I am older, I need to wear a skirt a bit longer to reflect my age. But don't worry if some may think you are gay. Its no big deal in todays world.

What do I think of that skirt ... I WANT it!

Brother, you can wear whatever you want as short as you want, but it helps to be nearly hyper masculine if you are gonna go that sexy. Make every thing else all 'dude' dude and you'll be fine. Also, if you are gonna wear anything 'Army' and you are not a Veteran be quick to have some good things to say about the Army in case a Veteran asks you about it. It's more than OK to sport Military Pride and you'd be surprised how many Veterans will give you the thumbs up for exercising your Freedom, a Freedom they all helped pay for.

I salute you!

Kilt ON!
