Greeting from Ivu

Post by ivul »

Hi
Actually, I already joined this forum few month ago. I am from Indonesia, where, commonly, men wear sarong (apologize if my English is not perfect)
I was interest to wear skirt/kilt since in elementary school. I think skirt (A-line, half or full circle, pleated) is more practical for casual activities.

Frequently, I love to wear a field skirt (cargo skirt) when outdoor walking (hiking, trekking). it is breezy at my leg.
Lucky me, my wife is fully support that skirt/unbifurcated garmet as daily cloth for men. You may see my web
http://www.geocities.com/xyrt_id/index.htm
unfortunately, this web is in Indonesia language :) and I hope this web will not be closed soon by geocities :?

cheers
Ivul

Welcome neighbour, well almost! Your province of Irian Jaya is just to the north of Australia. My skirt wearing began with your national, traditional fine cotton, batik sarongs, and I still have a drawer full of them and enjoy wearing them.(in the proper manner, pleated at the front) I moved on to skirts because they have pockets. :welcome:

Skip,

Thanks for the info. I was able to get the 'gist' of what was written.
Wish I could get better pics of his potential skirts. Most of these
are Box-Pleated skirts/kilts. Really simple to make, when you have
the time for it. I like design #4 as it is similar to a skirt, plenty of
movement yet not as much fabric. Like a flared skirt only shorter.
This gave me some ideas--but for later.

Welcome Ivu! The site's wonderful, thank you!...I mean the pics and the design (I loved the "equalitarian" homepage). As for the written contents, well... I guess that's OK too, but my knowledge of Indonesian is still nonexistant. I'll have to work on that, butI'm afraid that won't be any time soon!

Thank you again,

Juan

Welcome to the Cafe, Ivul!

Juan, the best way I know to learn a new language is to start with the food. My father-in-law was raised in Indonesia and has taught me about many wonderful foods like kroepoek shrimp chips, spicy sambal oelek sauce, and fried rice nasi goreng.... Ivul, you live in a great region of the world for tasty foods! :D
