Nurburg, Germany

Post by skirtingtherealissue »

For those who don't know, Nurburg is a small town nestling in the Eifel mountains, Germany; about 50 miles south of Cologne.

If you're a bit of a petrolhead (I think the US equivalent is gearhead?) you may have heard of it because of the Nurburgring (Nordschleife) or "Green Hell" according to Sir Jackie Stewart. A 13 mile racing circuit that is (sometimes) open to the public.

I thinking of going there sometime in the next six months, or so, and wondered whether any members had any experience of:

1. being skirted out and about in Germany;
2. being skirted in this particular part of Germany, where I suspect the male/female ratio is likely to be 10:1; and
3. being skirted in and around any motor racing circuit.

Or would you just don a pair of ......?

Actually I'm not living in Germany. But your post has no answer, so I could maybe just say that Germans are pretty open minded and skirt/kilt wearing is not really a big issue there. Maybe somebody will give you more elaborate answer.

I was in Germany years ago in the Army but wouldn't have dared wear a skirt in public at the time (I was about 26).

I was in Germany in 1966 to have my fingers worked on after my short fuse grenade accident in Vietnam. On my right hand only my thumb and bird finger works easily like it should. The other 3 are too stiffish for typing. I can grip stuff like a bat or ball or stick my hand in my pocket. It's OK tho. Doesn't stop me from my Sunday(Elks) or Monday(DAV) afternoon stint at the local Lodges calling 3 hours of Bingo in the Winter time. 8) The Vietnamese had not a thing on those old ladies when it comes to unvarnished greed and violence. Someone wins a Bingo, walks up to the front to collect and on the way back a cane slides out and in between 2 legs..."Have a nice trip, see you next fall..." (whispering)"Steal MY Bingo will you? I almost had it!, I bet you walk to and back from the cashout another way next time" tee hee hee. :roll:
