I once saw a male soprano, in a really whacked-out stage production of Handel's Messiah. The entire show was unusual and memorable, and the male soprano was one of the most memorable parts of it. Bravo!

Re: These two YouTube clips will blow your mind!
Al...since you posted those at S4M I researched Greg Pritchard and his "song". It was definitely a lip sync. If you watched and listened closely to what the panel said, you'd have picked up the first guy saying it was a terrific "ACT" ...act means it wasn't real. They approved him because it was a great idea he had. As the boss guy said, it was like a dog meowing but very original. The 3 Italian kids were real though. Very real. And terrific.

I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

Very impressive, Uncle Add! Thank you! And I should point out that, since I sing that stuff myself for a living, I'm not easily impressed.
Greg, the male soprano has a beautiful instrument indeed, but still has a lot to work on his technique, and his phrasing (and his Italian! he breathes in the middle of the words and seems to ignore the meaning of the text), especially if he is aiming towards the classical rather than the pop repertoire. But the voice is nice (and his looks, which is important as well) Anyways, he is very young, so he still has plenty of time left to fully develop his talent.
I don't want to establish any comparisons. But, since you show all that interest, I just wanted to share this video of Damián, a friend of mine and a very fine artist, who displayed full command of his technical resources (this was last year, when he was 22). He's not singing a "tenor hit" here, but rather a Baroque aria, more likely to be sung by a countertenor

What astonished me more of the other clip, the young-tenor-threesome, was not be beauty of their timbres (and they do know what the song is about) but the maturity reached by their voices at that delicate age: the age of the "break" of the male voice. In fact, some teachers actually advise you against singing at all until your voice is fully settled (from 14 to 16/17)... let alone singing profesionally! Kids nowadays certainly grow faster!
If you are interested in very young prodigies, you can find lots amazing axamples on YT: from Beverly Sills singing at age 8, Deanna Durbin at 14... to Joselito and Charlotte Church.
Thanks for sharing!
Juan

Thank you, Juan, for sharing this too. The vocal quality shows, even with the inbuilt speakers on my monitor! Just a thought but, maybe this thread should be a permanent fixture for such postings.
