Hello all

Post by straightfairy »

Thought I'd pop in and say hi.
I've been wearing skirts for a few months now, and only within my own home and found this place from the zyra site.
As my name suggests, I'm a straight acting (ie not camp) gay man, and I'm UK based.
Due to lack of budget, all of skirts have been cheap to buy while I experiment to find out the sizes that fit me and the styles that I like.
Unless it's really warm, i prefer longer (ankle length if possible), and the more masculine designs (cargo skirt, denim etc)
M+S, Next have been good thus far.

Hi straightfairy, and welcome. You have the same tastes in skirts as myself. I would suggest trying fleabay as another alternative for good, cheap skirts, plus the suspense of the auction is fun. When you are ready to venture out in a skirt, a denim one is, as has been mentioned before on this site, sort of invisible, and will break the "first time" ice, although I find that the more "masculine" ones cause little reaction in the street. I wear Gap, Old Navy, Levis, Orvis, LL Bean and have had no adverse reaction so far. :yay: :welcome:

Welcome to the café Straightfairy,

It's good to have another Brit here (actually it's good to have any new members here and all are welcomed). I don't know which part of the North you are in but I've travelled around most of our fair isle skirted and met no resistance so you can feel fairly confident that when you go out skirted the first time you are unlikely to have a problem. The only real rule is to be comfortable in yourself so that you exuded confidence; if you're happy skirted that chances are that nobody around you will pay much attention.

Have fun,

Ian.

PS If you'd like to share a first name it make the posts feel a little more personal.
Do not argue with idiots; they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Welcome among us Mr. Fairy. :D Thanks for explaining your name, otherwise I was going to continually going to picture you with wings.
