My new 2" high heeled, pumps with dark blue sweat pants, a blue t-shirt and a grey, sweat shirt. It's cold here in the NW suburbs of Chicago.
The high heels are completely new to me. I've had them since Saturday.
It's something I've wanted for 52, since I outgrew my mothers heels and could no longer wear hers. In the past, whenever I found heel in my size, 16, they always cost way to much. Hundreds of dollars which I've never been able to afford.
Then I found, about a month ago, several pairs of heel at more affordable prices at the site All Heels For Men. So, after 50 years I'm learning (reminding myself) how to walk in heel again.
Keep in mind that I don't "need" heels, not a 6'4" tall. If I were a woman instead of a man I'd probably shun heels, because of my height and only wear "flats" of some kind.
Since I'm retire and beholding to no one anymore I choose to wear heels again, just to re-experience the feeling one more time.
Right now it's a novelty to me that I, very frankly enjoy. Yesturday I wore them too with a denim, ankle length skirt. But today I'm doing various chores around the house and so I'm in sweat pants, for a change.

Navy Blue extra long T-shirt, White A-line Scrubs skirt, double socks, brown leather loafers. Double socks cause I have PAD = Peripheral Artery Disease in my lower legs and feet. When it's cold here I wear double tights and warm my entire legs. :)

OK-I guess it's time I posted here as well.
I was in a fleece ankle lenth skirt earlier today,
but with the cold temps we are having here, I'm
in slacks, shirt and sweater. When I get cold,
I'm cold . Warmth takes precidence over what
I'm wearing. Here, if the temp is below
3 digits, it starts to get chilly. Under 70 is really
cold to me. Tonight were supposed to get into
the low 30's. Even our pets get into bed with us
at these temps.

This is my first time in this thread. I wear trousers and skirts more or less interchangeably, depending on the circumstances. When I wear skirts, they are usually long-ish, and usually black or brown (tan or chocolate). Tonight, though, I'm wearing a shorter skirt in tan (not quite mini, not quite knee length) with aqua tights, aqua V neck sweater and royal blue T-shirt and I'm feeling a little more self-conscious than usual. I think its the color below the waist.

I've been "out and about" in long skirts, short skirts, kilts, black tights and chocolate tights and have not had a quiver of self-consciousness. In aqua, though, I feel a bit unsettled. Is color that big a deal? Is "men's fashion freedom" as much about color as the type of garment?

Or am I just being weird?

You're not being weird, alex...I wear colors every now and again, today the color is white, (some say thats not a color), I also have black, red, tangerine, aquamarine, paisley skirts, skirts with tropical fishies swimming all over a blue background, skirts with gray backgrounds and lots of whales and dolphins swimming and leaping from the sea. Skirts in dark blue with lots of various colored petals scattered all over it. I'm an ex-tropical fish collector, I like seeing color. When I first started wearing unbifurcated it was in the south pacific and it was pareos, there are NONE of those in plain colors. Colors are fine. Don't worry....

Although I tend to dress in muted shades both in bifurcated and unbifurcated garb, I don't think you should be afraid of colors, especially considering the baggy "loungewear" pants one sees around these days, in bright plaids. Sunday I saw a young man of somewhat shorter and stocky build, who, at first glance, appeared to be wearing an ankle length, shiny, light blue and white skirt. However (after staring rudely, I'm sure) I figured out that he was wearing an absurdly long and baggy pair of UNC basketball shorts!! The crotch must have hung around his knees! It really had me fooled for a sec.

Today I'm in my camo skirt with black tights, thick blue wooly socks, and a brown long sleeve T shirt. No effort to color coordinate whatsoever! We had 3" of snow yesterday (FYI, Northerners - that's a lot for us) so the world has pretty much shut down. We haven't had any snow for several years now. We don't have snow plows and you really don't want us Southerners out driving in snow and ice!!

I've seen lots of young men down here in the Keys wearing basketball type clothes. A lot of pants that have crotches at the knees or even lower. I can't imagine that being more comfortable than a skirt. I guess they just need to be able to say "I'm wearing PANTS"...GO figger. :thewave:

A first for me to describe what I'm wearing, but as I've just taken delivery of three new skirts I thought I'd share.

I've bought two minis and a dressy black "wrap" style skirt, just above the knee (to go with a mans dress shirt and jacket), all from Jane Norman in a sale. Unfortunately, the web-site didn't give an estimation of overall length and, while many of my skirts are quite short, none are quite as short as these minis - 11 inches, waist to hem  . They may not be to everyone's taste, but I like them both and shall be wearing them out and about. I've got to take the dressy one back as I can't quite fit in it although it's the same "size" as the minis; but the cut is different (I sympathise with women and what they have to go through to get the right fit).

Currently, I'm wearing a black "Guiness" rugby shirt, with one of the new minis (this one's a sort of salmon pink with diamante butterfly detail on the back pocket). To maintain modesty, I'm wearing 80 denier tights (UK) (pantyhose (US)?) over fishnet tights (I experimented with this a while back and liked the effect showing through), and a pair of white trainers (sneakers). I don't think it looks too bad, although I suspect I need to re-think the top. Maybe the shop assistants will be able to make some suggestions when I take the skirt back tonight!

Eleven inches is very short. I have three skirts about 15" in length and they are too short to allow me to sit discretely. I love them for walking in or for activities such as cutting the lawn, but sitting in the pub while wearing those is just not an option. Having said that, if you're happy with them go for it!

Have fun,

Yes 11" length look much shorty but I have some skirt which is 11.5" seem cool (I usual wear tights first then put mini skirt on) and I also have 14" and 15" as well - it feel so good. Yes if you want to wear then have fun -- it really cool and good fun to wear we like to :)

I already wear most of time and walk about to get some fresh air... no problem at all.

Well, I chickened out of wearing the 11 inch mini to the shops; just a bit too short at the moment. I'll have to get used to the lenght first, so I wore a 14/15 inch grey denim skirt instead.

Oh, while we're all wearing short skirts and black hose, I thought I would join in. I'm wearing a green Gant rugby shirt, a grey 18" skirt with fabulous 80 denier shiny mens (yes, mens) tights - they are from legwear4men.com, are from Doyeah (a Chines manufacturer) and are sooo comfortable. They have a fly too! Woohoo!
