I'm Off To See These Guys Tonight

Post by ziggy_encaoua »

I'm off to see these guys at the London Astoria tonight.

Now there is a MFF reason I'm telling you all this

Apart from myself you do see a fair few guys with mohawks & wearing kilts/skirts at NMA gigs

I'm pleased you know what an NMA gig is. I'd bet there's more than a few of us that don't. I know I don't know what it is. But just think on this...BCAMPWKWYTA most won't know what this is either. Makes us equal. :hide:

Well, I don't know either, but here's a few goes at it:
  • Noisy Metal Afficionados (146 dB and nothing on)
  • National Motorcycle Association (almost as loud as item 1 above)
  • No Medical Anomalies (excludes item 1 above -- hearing loss)
  • Never Mince Anchovies (There's a joke in there someplace)
  • Nothing Much Audible (mime, anybody?)

Something like that, actually, I really don't remember, I was making it up as I went along. Like this.

Just in case anyone hasn't twigged:

New Model Army.

I think I'm right in saying they have been around since Punk, where they had their origins. If I'm wrong I am sure Ziggy will enjoy putting me right!

Of course, instead of guessing what MNA stands for you could have clicked the link that Ziggy helpfully provided...

Just a thought 8)

Have fun,

Ian.

PS Of course if you'd done that we would not have had the follow up posts guessing the acronyms, which would have been a shame.

Can you remember the "his and hers" Kilts (yes, I know hers is a kilted skirt!) from the 'real' Punk days? Invariably Royal Stewart (i.e., red!) tartan! They must have(?) been marketed as "his and hers", too, as the aprons always folded the correct (gender) way! 8) Ah! Those long ago days of "Fashion Freedom"!
