Computer question.

Post by mugman »

Can anyone tell me please if a PDF file made on a PC can be opened on a Mac? Or would a Mac require software to access it? I'm working on a project, on a PC, which is ultimately intended to be marketed as PDF files on a CDrom. Am wondering how compatible this would be to both systems.

You should have no problem. PDF files are normally platform-independent and can be opened by both Macs and PCs regardless of the original computer which generated the PDF.

On a Mac (assuming it is a relatively modern one running Mac OS 10.xx) PDF files will open in 'Preview' which is part of the system software, which is perfectly good enough for me. Or you can use a free download of Acrobat Reader for Mac:
