Any chance of 'converting' them, while they're with you?
Probably not

At least they're honest & admit its a fetish

However they aren't coming to stay with it being as my landlord wasn't keen on the idea (nothing with them being a tranny)

I met a female-to-male transsexual once, and on another occasion a male-to-female transsexual.

I have speculated that gender identity may act in a way somewhat similar to the poles of a magnet. One pole is for male gender identity, the other pole is for female gender identity. An active pole has a gravitational pull. One pole is active in the brain, and is almost always synchonized with the gender of one's body. Thus, in the vast majority of men the active pole is for male gender identity. In the vast majority of women the active pole is for female gender identity.

But what if the active pole is not synchonized with the gender of one's body? I understand that these people may have a sense of having been born into a body of the wrong gender. So the efforts to make the body conform to the mind using hormones and surgery.

Another scenario is concievable. What if both poles are active in the same brain? Consider an individual who was born with a male body, and has active poles for both male gender identity and female gender identity. What would be the result?

The result would be a very balanced individual, who is able to express both sides of her personality. However if male, you are severly limited in your expression.

I am an example. I have been told I have a bridge brain, and think like both a male and a female, even though I look quite male. My masculine side over rides my feminine side due to social conditioning, but my female side wins out sometimes.

I like to present an androgynous leaning feminine appearance when I can. But most of the time, I look like Joe Normal, besides the leggings in place of jeans.

At least this is what I think, when it comes to your question.

Grok,
I really like your characterization of male/female identities. It complements the right brain/left brain theories.

What if both male and female poles are active in an individual, but are of unequal strength?

For example, what if a man had a female pole that is partially active, while having a fully active male pole? Would he retain a core male identity, but be influenced by the female pole?

With all due respect, I reserve the right to think that the whole "male identity" and "female identity" thing is just a lot of balderdash that we are brainwashed with from before birth on. In particular, all the "male brain" and "female brain" stuff I have seen has been a case of distorted reporting of science that is, at best ambiguous, and more typically flat out bogus.

I mean, think about it: in the USA, at least, we're so obsessed with avoiding wrong-gender influences that we even feel compelled to color-code our children at birth. Lots of people won't even paint the baby's room until they know what sex it'll be, lest (God forbid!) a girl be brought home to a blue nursery or a boy to a pink one, and you wouldn't believe how wierded out people get if your baby boy has something pink on. (Disposable) diapears now even come in "boy" and "girl" versions![1] Before they can walk or talk, kids have already had their souls embossed with "You Are A Boy" or "You Are A Girl", along with a complete education as to what boys and girls are supposed to be.

And then the Talking Heads go around making up theories about how those X and Y chromosomes or those fetal hormones or whatever hard-wire people's brains to be one way or another.

It's like walking through a garden where the trees are all the same species, but the ones on the left have been bonsaied and the ones on the right trimmed daily to assume the shapes of famous personages, and then saying, "gee, they must be different species, one that doesn't grow very big, and one that grows into statues."

Not to get all psychological on you, but ... I can't help wondering if part of the reason people are so resistant to the idea that people's gender identity is the result of cultural brainwashing is that they don't want to admit that their sense of who they are and how they think is so contingent on outside influences. Even though it's pretty obvious that it is. To an enormous extent, we are who those around us has expected us to be, and even when we aren't, the ways we aren't ("deviancy") are mapped out for us by our culture, too. Peer pressure and group/mob psychology are just the most blatant examples. Most of it is invisible, like water proverbially is to a fish.

[1] Back when I was a baby, they didn't have "boy" and "girl" diapers, they just had one kind for everybody (cotton), and it didn't hurt me any. Or did it? Aha! Maybe that's why I like to wear skirts! The diaper service accidentally brought "girl" diapers instead of the identical-looking "boy" diapers!

That sounds like a song verse from the late 60's early 70's...~~~Are you a boyyyy or are you a guuuuurl, with your lonnng blond hairrr, you look like a guuuuurl..ARE you a boy OR ARE you a guuuuurlllll!!! I can just imagine a new verse......~~~Are you a boyyyy or are you a guuuuurl, with your knee length skirt, you look like a guuuuurl..ARE you a boy OR ARE you a guuuuurlllll!!! It's probably not out there only because no one that cares (other than my warped mind) remembers it. :D :D :D
