Kilted Mail Man
Interesting story here about a guy who is campaigning to have the kilt adopted as uniform for post delivery men, and the comments are mostly supportive. I have contributed a few photos from my flickr album which the author of the article invited me to submit.

Aha, it is an update to Peterson's story. According to the news linked in the article-
It is good to know he wants to keep the issue in mind for the 2010 conference.
The gallery was fun to flip through. That pink kilt won my heart.
Peterson has a great point there about other approved items not being seen often though I've seen the pith helmet on my carrier. The union's executive committee recommended disapproval, saying there was not enough demand for kilts to be worth the bother of the resolution, and delegates agreed by a large margin.
But Peterson said there are plenty of approved uniform items that very few mail carriers wear, including a cardigan sweater, vest and pith helmet. He said many convention delegates did express support after his resolution was voted down.
