I am still alive

Post by RokSterNL »

Hi everybody,

It was a long time ago you have heard something. I can tell you why.

On the 6th of January my father died after a heartattack. My mother was in a nursing home, paralysed at her left side. Every evening my father went to the nursing home to give and to help her with her meal. 10 weeks later on the 16th of March my mother died. A normal situation, because my parents were married for more than 50 years.

The reason why my mother died is, because she missed her husband.

In this period I was to tired to wear a skirt. Every day I weared a pair of trousers. When my parents were still alive I weared skirts every day too. At the funeral I have still wear a skirt and boots. But a month after my mother has died, I made my decission to start wearing skirts again. Every day I wear a skirt again. I like it very much.

After a funeral a lot of administration starts. After 6 months it was done. In June I was on holiday to Madeira. I enjoyed very much.

At this moment I want to end my story. I hope to get back soon.

Rokster -- I am sorry to hear of your loss and the subsequent travails (although the holiday sounds like a good one, and one that you needed). Fifty years of marriage is a wonderful thing; it sounds like both your parents did well by each other during their lives. That's something that should be remembered, and celebrated.

Second that...it does ease, it never ever goes away completely though. As recently as this morning I woke from a dream where my Mom was chatting with me and had just told me someone was at the door. They were......The taxi had arrived to take me to the auto repair shop where my van's been all week. I have no explanation for this experience. I know what I hope, but really don't know about. I've tried going to sleep intentionally to see her, that doesn't work, she comes in my sleep when SHE wants to, not when I want her to. Most folks say they don't remember dreams, I remember all of mine. Here's hoping.. 8)

I wish you well, RockSterNL. It certainly isn't easy when we lose loved ones and our lives stop in their tracks. You will always have good memories and these are everything. Keep them safe.

That is a simple truth; don't lose sight of it, it will stand you in good stead.

My thoughts are with you Rokster, try to have fun,
