One way to avoid being "outed" at work

Post by Milfmog »

In the ‘What are you wearing as you post’ thread I wrote:…To stay on topic I will now have to admit that I'm in a double pocketed blue button front shirt, tan chinos and black suede shoes. I've just got back to our Spanish office after a customer visit and will be swapping the chinos for my similarly coloured UK before I leave to fly home.
Well, I changed into my Utilikilt in a quiet room at the office then returned to my desk.

Although I regularly wear kilts and skirts out and about in Barcelona I had never met a colleague while skirted and, as far as I am aware, none of them knew of my sartorial preferences.

I returned to the office after changing, packed the chinos in my bag, did a final email check, sorted a couple of engineering changes, packed up my laptop and bid my colleagues farewell before walking down to the waiting taxi. No one said anything (to me) but I was certainly aware of a few craned necks :D. The best bit was the look on the manufacturing manager's face, he desperately wanted to say something but could not bring himself to do so; to say his face went an odd colour would be something of an understatement.

Next time I travel to the Barcelona office I shall wear the kilt when I arrive and only change if / when I have to meet a customer. I figure that now a few of them have seen me in a kilt the rest know about it and, provided I’m relaxed and comfortable, no one should get too excited.

Have fun,

Ian.

Edited to change abbreviation "UK" to "Utilikilt". Ian

Well done, Ian! Be interesting to see how long it takes for some curious soul to mention the subject, though! :D

My UK based colleagues are all well are of my preference for kilts and skirts, about half of them have seen me in civvies at the office or out and about. The team I work closest with are running a small sweepstake on when it will first be mentioned to one of them by one of our overseas colleagues and another one on who will be the one to raise the subject :D

The smart money is currently on the General Manager of our German office in about three weeks, when he gets back from a business trip followed by a holiday...

If anything interesting develops I'll let the folks here know.

Have fun,

Ian.

I have been seen buy a few of my coworkers wearing a skirt. The first one was by supprise he just happen to be seeing the same counslar i was and when i cameout after the session he was there. I was wear a knee length jean skirt nude hose and sneakers. then just the other day i went looking for a new jean skirt and as i was in the local good will looking at some skirts in walked another guy and his wife. I was wearing my knee length jean skirt, suntan hose, and some black womens loafers (flats no heel). I know he see me but didn't say a word allthough he did say something to his wife. i seen him look at me and then lean over and say something to her. now if i know where i curanntly work well enough there are proably quite a few that now know.
