I used the 15 or so simple smilies for 4 years here, mostly just using the dull boring
and thats all. Someone, in the search for a little humor added a whole bunch of new informative and funny smilies. I didn't know about them for a while until one of our moderators told me how to bring them up and check them out. I was completely happy using smilies that actually had messages in them, and I started using them to improve (in my opinion) my posts. I've gotten about 15 pms about my smilies that I use, 13 were supportive, 2 were not. The first unsupportive one, several weeks ago, was reading all kinds of messages into my use of them than was there. I had to go thru a long reading and interpreting to see where the messager was getting all these interpretations that, in my opinion were not there. I've since found, that this particular messager spends entirely too much time reading messages into posts that are not there.The second unsupportive one, received yesterday, is complaining that I am....using....them. Doh, if that person doesn't want me to use them, he should complain to the management for putting them in the site at all. I think that kind of complaining tho, would smack of sour grapes for some unknown reason. This person said that he looks for "excessive smilies" and passes by reading any posts that have excessive smilies...REALLY, that's what he said. Personally, I think that person needs to get out more. I also told him where he could stick his opinion of "my" excessive smilie use. Of course I'm somewhat known for a short temper with stupid people and for using somewhat unfriendly expletives.
Oh, my gawd, I've gone and used one now!
