Was Asked To Build An Adult Tranny Site
Thorough a good acquaintance I was asked to code a new site for an individual. I was offered cash to do it & though I’ve no problems with pornography, I said no because I wasn’t prepared to promote transvestitism. Its funny but I spoke to them & explained my reasons why I wouldn’t, they agreed with a great deal of what I said that transvestitism is purely a fetish.

Good for you for sticking to your principles, Ziggy.

I'm pleased you stood by your principles, Ziggy! I tend, because there seems to have been such a blurring of universal definitions, to regard Transvestites & Crossdressers as different from one another as in, 24/7 & 'weekend'. The former is then subdivided into the genuinely gender-challenged (some of which may choose to go transexual, i.e., all the way genetically) and the 'fetish brigade'. I wish there were terms to separate these folk, as Joe Public seems unable/unwilling to apply demarcation. With either/all of these, the aim appears to be to closely emulate their (own) perception of women, whereas those into "Drag" (the preserve of deviant(?) homosexuals) apply a different interpretation, namely parody.

The site seemed to be the same profit driven crap to me.
Re: Was Asked To Build An Adult Tranny Site
Please remember that SkirtCafe is a family-friendly fashion site, and it has children on it. It is therefore not appropriate to post adult material or links to adult material, not even when that material would illuminate the discussion at hand.
If anyone wants to see the URL to which Ziggy refers, AND THEY ARE OVER 18 YEARS OLD, please feel free to PM Ziggy asking for the link.

Re: Was Asked To Build An Adult Tranny Site
I am intrigued about children being on this site. Whose children?
If there were any children I expect they would know where to find a site on Trannies.
I was watching daytime TV the other mornign and between the adverts for 'no win - no fee' and 'low cost finace' there was a program about a Gay Pride Event and it went into great detail about the products available. I was discgusted with it. perhaps I would have been slightly less dispgusted if it had been on very late at night.

I'ld be disgusted as well.
On the other hand, Europeans are more 'open minded'
about what goes on TV than in those in the U.S.
The 'Broadcast Standards Commission' in the U.S. would
have a 'canniption fit' over what is broadcast in Europe.
So would the 'Moral Majority'. They couldn't handle
the 'shows'
from Europe as the shows would
be immoral for the people. I guess this is where the
'closed mindedness' of the 'western society' comes in.

Tranny Sites?
Mmnn, I think most kids (even from quite young) in Europe (certainly the UK) are aware what a 'tranny' is! Don't forget, we also have "Pantomime" which has no end of 'crossdressing' parts - for both genders! In Koeln (sorry, cannot do umlauts!), on (at least) one day a year, it is unusual to see any bloke (other than perplexed visitors!) NOT wearing a dress, skirt, or whatever, some over-made up (ala panto!) and some quite convincing TVs!
I've not been aware of any input here from anyone fitting a 'youngster' label, for a very long time. It would be nice if there were, if they would consider offering their views?

Ziggy---I, personally, do not think this is 'Bob's forum, butziggy_encaoua wrote:Its Bob's forum, Bob likes being nanny he removed the link,

a forum for all persons interested in promoting Men-In-Skirts.
On another site, a bit more liberal shall we say, the daughter
of one of the members made her appearance saying she
supported her dad in his skirt wearing. She was 14 at the time
she 'joined' the board. Now she has passed her college exams,
and is headed to medical school. She is not in the U.S. but
I, for her privacy, will not mention her country.
Many young people have the ability to 'search-the-web' on a
daily basis. I do not want to intentionally or accidentally introduce
a site to a 'minor' ( thats under 18yrs here, not someone working
in the mining industry ) which may 'subvert' their parents family
values. I also feel that most participants of this board have
families, and they value the fact that this forum will not promote
any 'porn'. Men-in-skirts/kilts is not 'porn' but adding a choice
in clothing for the man's wardrobe, other than that nasty word pants.
I'm still proud of you for 'sticking to your guns' about not working on
that 'site'

Re: Was Asked To Build An Adult Tranny Site
To be honest in the past I have did do some work for a dominatrix I’m friends with but I’ve told them since I won’t do so again explaining that I’m trying to get people to believe that not all folk wear PVC because it arouses them, some do it because they look good wearing PVC generally because they’ve got a good figure…..lucky them & unlucky me

Re: Was Asked To Build An Adult Tranny Site
SkirtCafe is set up to conform to COPPA regulations in the USA, which set a minimum legal age of 13 or 14, I believe. phpBB does COPPA conformance pretty much "out of the box."
If you want to host adult material on your forum (and you don't like getting harassed by authorities), you have to make a (reasonable) effort to ensure such material does not end up in the hands of minors. I don't know how adult sites do that because I don't frequent such sites. But I assume that taking a credit card number may be one way. And they're almost certainly required at the very least to state a minimum age of 18. Whatever is required, it probably takes more time, attention and money than simple COPPA conformance.
SkirtCafe is simply not set up to host adult material. And since no effort has been made to exclude minors, I have to assume that they are here.
