Hose question
Can anyone please provide the name/s of the materials used in the type of kilt hose that remain in shape after washing. I have several pairs of what I think are 'wool-rich', and they have shrunk to almost half the original length. I have one pair in bottle green which have never shrunk, and are much thinner and stretchy. But, purchased a year ago, I have no record of knowing what they're made of, and want to order more in other colours.

I have only three pairs of kilt hose, I believe they are pure wool. They were dear, like £13 a pair. I have washed them in a machine on the wool cycle and dried them flat and they haven't suffered. They also wear very well, the first pair were bought in 1989 and are still intact, though a bit discoloured in the shoe region.
I have always bought the 'undyed' natural wool colour and they are definitely worth the money. They are lasting as well as my one and only kilt.
