The skirt alteration couldn't have been easier - it opens the door to a whole lot of possibilities for other economic purchases. I prefer to stick with the right hand fastening method (call me old fashioned), and if it can be done in 10 minutes, I'm more than happy.
There are no pleats - apart from the bright red-based 'tartan' it's quite plain. A bit on the short side, but at a couple of quid it was worth the experiment. Something a bit more knee length next time maybe.
I sold the Wurlitzer as it was too ancient for my needs (looks good, but a bit of a technological dinosaur). I now have a Technics EN4 which sounds superb...and doesn't weigh half so much if I need to move it.
The denim Union Kilt I bought a few weeks back I've decided to add Velcro to on the waistband as my size fluctuates these days. I find the unforgivingly positioned popper fasteners are not very practical. It's interesting to see that the kilts are always exemplified worn by a lean, mean guy - which unfortunately isn't me
