I have been wearing denim skirts full time now for many months. Actually, it could be a year now with only four or five days, one at a time and not all day, in shorts. I did start out a couple of 35f degree mornings last week in joggers, but soon changed. Even Arizona has some cold nights in the winter at low altitude.

We are in Quartzsite, a mecca for recreational vehicles this time of the year and there are dealers of everything anyone might want in the swap meet/flea markets here. This is billed as the biggest, with 500,000 plus people even on bad years.

There are "Badge Makers" here and we have many plaques for the clubs we belong to and I decided I'll get one that says, "Men in Skirts". Many people notice my skirt, but almost no one says anything. I was thinking maybe this would cause some to ask or at least I'd do some advertising for the cause.

Then I thought maybe I should check with the 'owner' of the name and make sure he's not bothered or approves of such a thing. Even down to skirtcafe(dot)org.

So what do you think Bob???

Tom,
I for one think it's a great idea and I think we should put in a group order for those who want them.

Good Idea.

Good Idea!

Is this an adhesive decal like my Good Sam sticker? OR a button I wear like "I Like Ike."?

By the way - we are full-timers too! We passed through Quartzsite this winter, but were on our way to Dallas to brother's house for Christmas.

We're new at it - only had the RV a couple of years. But we have live aboard our sailboat full time for almost ten years so it's not real different in the RV.

What's your rig? We are minimalists, with a very comfortable 22-foot Class A.

All the best,

TomH, this is one of my biggest dreams! We have a small, gas-powered Bounder and it's out first RV. Being only in our mid-40's we still work at the grindstone, but one day ...... Quartzite!
Have you seen the guy there who runs his shop while totally, erm, without clothing at all?

That brings back memories. We left Idaho in our mid forties, on the road to adventure. We sold in Q for a few years, but found it better to buy here and then sell in other places. There were a lot more wholesalers here then. Hang in there, you may be able to align your life to do it.

We use as little of earths resources as possible. All of our lighting is 12 volt. We use solar panels to charge our house batteries. That keeps us in computer power and also powers our amateur radios. We always 'boondock'. (Parking without hookups to the grid, water or sewer). I haul water most times and we find dump stations every two weeks.

Yes, we know the book store owner, Paul. He is wearing a pouch to cover parts. He belongs to the club where we are right now for our annual meetings at a place called the "Magic Circle". Oh, and right now, he and EVERYONE here is wearing something most times due to the COLD air. The good news is, it won't last long.

So it looks like it might be possible to get skirted guys together, it'll just take a few lifestyle changes and great timing.

OOps, I forgot to include info Chris asked for.

We were in Yuma in December.

What we have are little plastic badges with the letters etched in them. Most clubs and many hobbies use them to post your name on your hat or chest. We use them to post our "birds of a feather" groups for others to see while attending meetings or gatherings.

Our rig is an old bus I converted into a motorhome. It's 35 feet long and has a diesel engine in the rear. We pull a Jeep behind it so we can go out in the desert and forest Geocaching and visiting interesting places.

And our daughter and son-in-law live in Sultan, Wa and we park on their lot at Long Beach, WA a couple weeks in the summer if we're in the NW.
