Well the month has arrived
Day 10
Itchy legs, itchy face.
When home, I wear my grey sweats. When out and about I wear blue jeans.
I do have a choice of black or blue jeans, but that's about it really.
When at work, I wear my coveralls everyday.
Fashion wise...borring as watching paint dry.
Here is the real funny bit. My mother saw that I am growing a beard, and told me that it doesn't look good. Now let me understand this. She gripes about my leggings because to her they are waaaaay to feminine, but the idea of me doing a very "manly" thing...growing a beard, to her isn't any good either.
I find this ironic.

Not ironic at all
In my experience, it is sometimes a difficult chore to please a woman. I don't know if it's them that likes having control over us or us that is engaged in spending our lives trying to satisfy them with or without much success. Personally, I try to please them, but after repeated attempts without success, I tend to try to (not too successfully) ignore them.
Thank the powers that be tho, ALL women aren't THAT way..Some actually try to please the men in their lives. Lucky for me, I've managed to find a few like that earlier in my life. I'd sure like to find ONE more though(hopefully between the ages of 40 and 55)..

I'm laughing as I picture the few ways this conversation could go well. Still, I want to know, did you ask and how'd it go?Pythos wrote:I noticed my female roomate's style is really taking a dive, which is sad, concidering she is one I took some idea cues from. Yesterday she was in these ill fitting maroon sweat pants, white socks, black shoes, and grey shirt. You have to understand for her this is awful. Perhaps she has chosen to drab out this month too. I may ask.
So, new year's eve we had a party. We were playing rock band. I had chosen the usual mundane clothing, jeans t-shrt.
When the clock struck midnight, we all cheered happy new year. A few minutes later, I went into my room, closed the door, and got out of everything I was wearing. Grabbed my flat fronted leggings, Yin and Yang T-shirt, motor cycle boots, and black silk shirt. Sat on my bed and pulled the leggings on. This was the first time I had done this the "correct" way, and realized just how great it felt putting these things on. (I had been wearing my worn out leggings as long underwear, with briefes under them) With them on, I put on the shirt, belt, boots, and overshirt, and left my room.
My roomate said "that looks a lot better, and more like you!" others said likewise.
My month of mundane has ended.

Welcome back from your month of fashion "Lent"!
Your "coming back" outfit sounds great.
I was watching a show this morning on which Tim Gunn was a guest. Tim said something that struck a chord when he was asked about finding the styles that work for you. I'll have to paraphrase, but it went something like: Don't follow fashion, Don't follow trends. Wear the things that you love, that look good on you and that give you confidence.
I'm sure Mr. Gunn didn't mean it for men in skirts, but what a great thought for everyone in finding their "look"

Well done! The only question I feel I should have asked earlier on, when you mentioned that your (female) roommate's garb was getting drabber, was, "Do you suppose that she may be taking some of her cues from you?"My roomate said "that looks a lot better, and more like you!" others said likewise.
Next time 'round pick February. It may not feel it, but it really is the shortest month of the year.My month of mundane has ended.
