Stu, most Danes are extremely tolerant, at least regarding a man in a kilt. Probably it is the same with a man in a denim skirt.

That's good because while I don't wear kilts, I do wear denim skirts quite a lot.
Prices on real property are going down, by the way, if you intend to buy.

That's lucky! I do intend to buy, but house prices here are going down too ! I'm looking to move to south Zealand (Næstved, Sorø, Skælskør, Korsør o.s.v omegne) or maybe even as far as Møn, perhaps a farm house, and will be looking to spend between DKK 1.8 million and DKK 2.5 million (kontant). I have a job offer at a handelskole as well as my pension, so I could borrow a little on top of that if necessary.

Redneckism in the US of A

Post by Since1982 »

Someone is living in the past. There haven't been any "redneck intolerant" places in the South US of A in about 20 years, ever since long hair and facial hair became popular at dances and most of the musicians at hoe downs started wearing "mullets"..The only place you see lots of so called "rednecky" people is at Rodeos. And THEY only LOOK that way, don't THINK that way any more. :)

Stu, I'm sure your'e going to find a nice house within that limit, depending on size etc. of course, especially if a few kilometers outside the towns you mention. Good luck. Other possibilities might be Præstø and Vordingborg.

Thanks, Gerd. There will only be three of us, so a modest, 3-bedroom house will suit us fine.

We were looking at a house in Skibinge, just outside Præstø, on the Nybolig website just yesterday. It's a nice area and not far from the sea, so it's a possibility. We would have to check the train connections so I could travel to Roskilde Handelsskole each day for my work.
