Denim makes you look young!
Wife and I went into a shop in Liverpool last week, she wearing her trousers and me in denim Union kilt. As we were completing our purchase, and the young lady shop assistant had made some polite conversation with me, she then looked towards my wife and said to me "So this will be your mum then".
Very flattering for a guy in his late fifties to be viewed as a whole generation younger!

If I'd had a comment like that in front of my better looking half she would probably ban me from dressing like that ever again
Either that or she'd accuse me of bribing the assistant...
Have fun,
Ian.

Do not argue with idiots; they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

...you think she'd let me have milk on my cornflakes?
I suspect I'm more likely to find all meals for the next week are to be taken with the dog but he'll be given a head start... I guess it wouldn't do my waistline any harm.

I bet your wife will think twice about wearing her trousers instead of often much more complimentary skirts, at least when you both go out together.
It also shows aparently that skirts do look good on men also, ( but we already knew that). This is an excellent moment to make a suggestion as to having your partner dress somewhat nicer, or more feminine, I don't like using that word, but as long as we don't have a substitute for it..., So she may also wear a complimentary skirt. If a skirt compliments you so well, then it should compliment her even more! Go shopping with each other, and buy some complimentary skirts and matching shirts/ jumpers etc.
That way you both could say, hey, yes, we know what you are looking at, we look just stunning don't WE? Your partner can say, THAT'S MY man, isn't he just great? That way, both enjoy skirt wearing double up. Also doing it that way, reinforces the image, that it is accepted by a woman, even your partner, and that makes it less liable to think that it's something not done.

A man is the same man in a pair of pants or a skirt. It is only the way people look at him that makes the difference.
I find this thread disturbing. How do you gentlemen expect us, the ladies, to support you when you make fun of us?
For some time there has been a subtle undercurrent of misogyny in this forum. I don't like it.
If this is to be a "wench bashing" forum, don't expect much support.
Peter v. thank you for your supportive post and constructive alternatives.

gotta take the good with the bad... men are men. I find nothing shocking in this thread. Really it speaks to the amount of power men grant the women in their life. I know right now two men who were kicked out of the house to live in the van and the barn until they repented of their misdeeds. If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.

In my opinion, that remark is completely uncalled for.Men must be men nd they are absolutely entitled to whatever they want whenever they want in any way they want
Posters in this thread - myself included - were making fun of the SITUATION - whereby the person who started the thread was taken to be a younger man than he really is - and his wife taken to be his mother. I find the situation funny - but am making no comment or judgement on the two individuals involved. Yet you seem to have jumped to the conclusion that posters here were denigrating the woman involved. I can't speak for other posters, but I certainly wasn't.
I don't understand how you have taken comments made in fun on this thread and somehow made a mental leap to making generalizations about all men etc. You may have issues around men - and if so, that is completely valid, but please don't tar all men with the same brush.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood . . .

Ps about any down currents in chat that is made by other members, I myself assume and certainly hope there is no intent to be unfriendly, and assume some men are used to talk in a certain way, that may sometimes come across as offending. If that is so, please adres that to the offending person, and if so, it may then be corrected respectfully. Of course the others can speak for themselves.

Friendly greetings,
Peter v.
