I guess magic pants would be comfortable no matter how overweight you were - magic being what it is. I would still wear kilts and skirts though because for me the comfort of wearing them is one of mind as well as body.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I like seeing the range here, just like anything else in life there is no simple answer that covers the group.

These are magic pants after all, I bet it wouldn't even take magic to put a zipper along both inside legs so you could step into the open pants and form legs afterwards. Now comfort in a contraption like that? Well that would need magic.

As a kilt wearer I like the fact that the kilt goes on round me then fastens. The fact that there is then nothing to obstruct between the legs. Obviously there are occassions where I cant wear a kilt same as my wife cant wear her best skirt or dresses for reasons of practicality but from when I put my kilts on in the morning right through the day there are no situations arise that Ive been unable to cope with comfortably, and with decorum.
Hope this answer helps Quiet Mouse. Its only my personal experience.

I wear kilts because they never seem to be out of style. Men have been wearing the same tartan and design for the last 100 years and I bet it is not going to change for another 100 years or so.

I bet that's why Wall Street Traders all wear similar looking suits too...to blend in. After all, one wouldn't want to be the only brown sheep in a million white ones. Might be shunned or something. :eh:
I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

They are getting progressively cheaper though, thanks to good old developing world cheap labour. I say good luck to the new manufacturers - I find wool itchy anyway so acrylic is fine. One thing, though, the cheaper ones often seem to come in 23 or 24 inch drop only, and to get that slightly above my knee where I want it, the belt is nearly round my chest.

MY reason for my sarongs....

Post by Raakone »

1)My fascination with, and desire to go to, the South Seas/Polynesia
2)They are very, very, VERY comfortable
3)See reason 2
4)I like the "free" feeling of not having anything between my legs

I hope that helps,

Comfort comfort and, incidentally, comfort! The freedom and comfort given by the right skirt can never be matched by tr*****s, although when the wind chill factor goes well into brass monkey weather I am in my Moose Creek fleece lined jeans with long johns underneath. To Skirt Chaser, there are magic trousers, very dressy, can be showy and are a viable option.- They are Thai Wrap Pants. Not all Thai made ones fit my western (oversize) waist but ones from Mystic Clothing in the U.S. do,

Thai wrap pants make me think more of food than clothing. I should look that style up though, it sounds interesting and I bet they have a lot of pattern and color variety.

Why? Because skirts are fun. Plain and simple. Another reason is that they feel, well, natural on me, like it's part of me, if that makes any sense.

Why wear skirts?

Post by skirts4me »

1. As one South Australian said: comfort, comfort and, incidentally, comfort.
2. As another member said: why not?
3. Because I sweat too much in the crotch area and trousers make that unbearable at times
4. Because it's better for men's health
5. Because my privates don't like being squashed and cut in half by the seams on trousers and shorts, and I refuse to wear something with the crotch near my knees.
6. Because someone needs to lead this fashion trend into popular culture, so why not me?
7. Because I refuse to me tied to what has become a norm for the sake of being tied to it - there are too many opportunities in the future to let the past dictate what I'm going to do
8. Because if it's OK for Jesus, and every other male in the Bible, to wear skirts/dresses then it's OK for me.

All the above are 'G' rated - you can imagine some that aren't!

There are several factors why I wear skirts
1. They are comfortable
2. Men should have the fashion freedom as women
3. Why limit my wardrobe to the same boring pants, shorts, the same boring suits that everyother man wears.
4. When its hot and humid out why should be uncomfortable in pants or shorts.
5. If its good enough for a woman to go into the mens dept. and buy pants then I should be able to into the womans dept. and buy a skirt.

I like the comfort of a kilt or skirt

In trips to the Pacific Islands and SE Asia I have worn a lava lava and a longhi and found them far more comfortable than western style trousers. Years ago a Scottish woman told me I had the arse for the kilt so I now wear a kilt when I can, it took me a roundabout 25 years but I got here.

No one seems to be offeneded by it and so far I have not been aware of causing any amusement.
