Support in Milwaukee

Post by Steven »

Hello All, I know this is a bit late, but things have been a bit hectic between work, girlfriend, new house, contracting, and numerous other little things.

If anyone is interested and is able to show support my hearing with the Pettit will be held at the State Office Building at 819 N 6th St, Room 260-B Milwaukee Wisconsin on July 17th at 9AM unless they decide to settle to my original terms.

It's been almost two years now since this has happened and it's finally coming to an end, I have a positive outlook on the outcome and hopefully will never have to repeat it again.

Thank You,

Steven

Sorry Steven but I'm relatively new around here. I did a search of the site for Pettit but nothing came up so I still have no idea what this is about. Perhaps you could fill in a few details for me and others who are too polite to ask?

Thanks,

Ian.

Hi Ian,

About two years ago I was skating at the Pettit in non-traditional male attire, ie. a skating dress. After skating a few laps and talking to some kids who thought it was cool I was approached by management and asked to leave for no other reason then they can ask anyone to leave.

I felt I was discriminated against and filed a complaint stating as much, my claim was approved to go to a hearing which is being held next week.

Some time ago I knew there were a couple patrons of Tom's that lived up that way and notifying if they wished to be there and hear whats going on.

Much more then that I cannot say until it's over and becomes public record after which we can all read about the issues and the outcome.

Thanks for filling in the blanks Steven,

I knew you had been skating skirted but did not realise that you had had a bust up with the management over your choice of clothing. It never ceases to amaze me how many busybodies there are trying to make everyone fit to their view of the world.

Good luck with the hearing. It's rather too far to travel from the UK but I'll be thinking about you and wishing you well.

Have fun,

Ian.

I join the others in wishing you all the best in this upcoming hearing, Steven.

In actively protesting against the discrimination that you met with, rather than just meekly submitting to it, you are a great example for all men in skirts. Well done.

Hi Steven! I might be up for a drive over to Milwaukee to meet you and do some lunch. But I wonder what your schedule is - have you given any thought to making a trip over here to Madison? I ask that because Madison is a really friendly town for us alternative-fashion types (despite the recent shooting of a guy in a kilt). It's great to hang out and have a beer on the lakeshore terrace of the university student Union.
Let me know what your schedule is for while you are in the area. Email me directly to: k9evatyahoodotcom (do the usual with the "at" and the "dot")

Pettit

Wow, am I a dummy. My whole life long the only thing named Pettit I ever heard of was a Paint and Epoxy Glue company in Mass.
I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

Well, the hearing was interesting, unfortunately everyone will have to wait until I get the outcome.

Steven

P.S. I did send you an email Kevin, but never got a reply.
