Wossapnin? in Fareham this week?

Post by Big and Bashful »

I am in Fareham for the week, and along with my kilt which will be visiting several pubs in Sheffield this coming weekend, I have a long pleated skirt which is just too comfortable. Anyone on here from the Fareham area? just in case I can pluck up some courage to go into the twilight zone; beyond the kilt!
Oh and Skip, have I said something to upset you?

Took the kilt to dinner in a restaurant tonight, not even a glance, which was nice :) .

What did your Kilt have for dinner, then? More serious curiosity = what tartan? I've noticed that the green/blue/black Kilts go virtually un-noticed, but the more 'garish', Royal Stewart and those 'yellow ones' do attract attention! :eh: (Oh, and they're more liable to show beer stains, too!)

Traditional 9 yard kilt, butchered to fit my expanded gut. It's a modern Ross hunting tartan, mainly green, bits of black and red. Not too garish, when I bought it I didn't fancy wearing a red flag! 1989 seems such a long time ago, about three stone as well. When I can afford another it will probably be red based because they look smart. At my size you don't blend it whatever you wear so red will be it methinks. I do like the modern black/dark grey tartan type kilts as well but tartan is always a winner. I wish the sporran would shut up though, damn tassels, makes me feel like I have a built in rythm section!

Tassles? Oh, my gawd! Aren't they dreadful? 'Specially on a dark, moonlit night - sounds like 'they' are cummin' to get yer! I remember Hamish suggesting 'blutak' to 'calm' the dreaded tassles. I prefer the totally 'mute' version - no bl**dy tassles! The 'tassled one'? - gone into hibernation - tried to flog it on eBay for a tenner! No takers! Mebee we should 'exterminate' tassles? Or - is that the Tennants Super talkin'?

I find my cotton camo kilt attracts some attention, especially when combined with some jewellery even though I'm camouflaged in it and for the latest tartan I went for a Dress Gordon on the basis that it was nice and bright - a bit of a tablecloth really.

I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.
