Skirt-wearing and Feelings
Yeah AMM, I must say that wearing skirts does help me to relax, and I think everyone has their own femininity threshold. Some who wear skirts or kilts have no intention whatsoever to appear feminine; some wear them only to appear feminine; and some are somewhere in-between.
I find that being able to wear a kilt openly reduces my need to, for instance, buy the occasional dress for wearing at home when I'm on my own. I know I prefer to wear a kilt in as effeminate a style as my wife will tolerate, which is not very effeminate at all. I do also like jewellery and reasonably-undetectable makeup and have been known to go for a facial. I am also completely straight and see no paradox at all in any of that. I was brought up in an environment of clearly-defined male/female roles in, frankly, a bit of a boondock town where I was forced to play football as a kid, and I was in my thirties before I realized what a pleasant effect wearing a skirt or being pampered a little could bring.

Wish I could explain what skirt wearing does to me. I think, I change a bit to feel better..be more relaxed..more friendly to others. However, it isn't the skirt as such. I think, it is the whole picture of skirt, slip and sometimes hose which triggers that feeling.
I asked myself million times if this is some kind of sexual arousal, but honestly, it is not. I think, it just makes me happy that I can wear those things w/o punishing myself all the time with ..ohh..damn...I must be a crazy x-dresser and what is next!

Well I have been around a lot of different cultures and if you come around someone who is cross dressed or a transvestite I doubt you would have much in common to talk about. However if you came across me dress I am sure you and I would not have an uncomfortable meeting and would get along greatly and have lots to discuss. In short what I am saying is it would depend on the mannerism's and conduct of the person you met who is wearing a skirt and what ever else.Charlie wrote:Boy, I've led a sheltered life. The only CDs or TVs I've knowingly met are the electronic variety. As for gays, well I once saw a couple of guys holding hands, and found out that someone I had dealings with was gay, but that was only after he'd left the area.
I've often wondered how I'll react or feel if I ever encounter another man in a skirt. I've seen men in full Scottish regalia, but somehow that's different![]()

You know, I don't even feel the slightest bit fem when I don a skirt. I wear skirts all of the time and it is just second nature. I do feel more fem when I throw on a set of heels. Even with jeans and boots with a heel, I feel more fem. For me it is not about crossdressing, it's about shaking it up a little. More of a androgenous type look. No bras, wigs or lingere. Just a guy with a 5 o'clock shadow and fun heels (no pumps or other "TV" fetish footwear).
