Skirt suit

Post by skirted84 »

I wonder if there have been any serious attempts to devise a skirt suit for men? The concept would be simple enough, a suit with knee length skirt. Economics may be the enemy as ever.

If you look far enough you may find a good blazer/suit jacket and skirt in matching colours. If not a perfect match you are better with complimentary colours. My favourite is a navy blazer and grey skirt with blue or white shirt. An actual suit would be a game changer though, like the trouser suit for women in its time, now so commonplace we wonder why it was ever revolutionary.

Absolutely yes there's skirt suits for men! Here's an example, with sandals to boot: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulu_(ski ... pped).jpg

Similar skirts also worn by Samoan and Tongan men.

I have three, and they have all been illustrated in the cafe.
The outfit that I wore for The Herald interview, has done "suit" duty loads of times too.

One of my early inspirations was seeing, from a bus in Edinburgh, a man dressed smartly in a monochrome brown kilt with sporran and matching suit jacket.
