What if?

Post by STEVIE »

Let's make this easy, because no one seems to want to answer in other threads.
What will you do if the law of YOUR land makes it illegal for a guy to wear a skirt.
I'm not looking for a great load of waffle, just say what you would do if being caught wearing a skirt would mean arrest, sanction, incarceration or whatever?
I come from a place where a straight answer to a straight question is to be respected, why should the Skirt Cafe be any different?
Steve.

Wear trouser.......... I did this for 50 years, so would do it again and return to private dressing.

It's not that much of a choice, I'd do as Mouse, and join the rallies to have the law repealed.

But I'd hazard a guess that if things start going that far here I would have emigrated elsewhere long before this kind of law was passed, its likely not the first thing they would go after.

I'm a bit of a rebel at heart. I'm more concerned about being ostracised in my everyday activities than I am with the law.
So I would head into London etc as normal and get arrested for a public order offence. Join rallies and no doubt get dragged into a black mariah.
I didn't touch the vaccine despite lots of pressure and I would do the same here.

But in the circles I mix I would find it hard being laughed at. I hate myself already.

I completely understand dressing in private but it was possibility of this happening that drive me outside in 2023. I'm not doing anything wrong so I won't be dressing in private.

I would just wear my kilt as even though the kilt is a skirt men can still wear a kilt and it’s socially acceptable. If the kilt is not allowed then I’d just wear my leggings or shorts with a nice comfortable pair of tights. No way am I going back to trousers.
My name is Arty. I’m a guy with a passion for wearing skirts, dresses and tights and a hobbiest musician and artist. 8)

I think we are in need of a Stevie ruling on the legal term “skirt” in his law.

Like Seb, I would have emigrated before that for the same reason. If wearing skirts had been banned, several other issues would already have made it difficult or impossible to remain in that country.

Fortunately, it is not going to happen, at least not in Europe.

There ARE viable alternatives to trousers.

Find something else toto wear that isn't illegal but is at least as if not more rebellious.

I believe that here in The People’s Republic of America, we are headed in this direction as we are moving back to a 1950’s culture. Our dearly departed leader CR (Carl) believed this and so do I. Whether we like it or not, men wearing skirts in America are incorrectly categorized under the LGBTQ umbrella and that more legislation will be seen to limit LGBTQ protections and force them back into the closet. These types of laws are essentially suppression of freedom of expression which is currently protected under the first amendment of our constitution. We have already seen other constitutional rights ignored. That is the reason why I believe that there is a good chance in the future that laws will be passed to ensure that men maintain a traditional masculine appearance.

I would most likely be arrested for violating the law and my life would be miserable.

Kilting in public. Quite limiting, but better than nothing.

In private? Concentrate on DIY sewing projects. Creating some sort of house dress.
I am thinking of something fairly simple, that could be sewn by hand.

If I didn't have any responsibilities I would not comply and risk the punishment to prove a point.
