Dave’s Brand
Re: Dave’s Brand
No, I don't - yet.
In my opinion, the Daves skirts might be the best take on men's skirts. So, someday, I'll give them a try.

I own one, the red and grey tartan one. With the UK outside of the EU the delivery caused a problem at the time, but I guess they will have it sorted by now.
I think Mouse raised a good point about buttons being under tension and no belt loops, not a good design.

Looks like his prices have come down a bit
They are a unique design - different yet appealing.
I like the Barker Red Tartan

Not quite a kilt but, IT HAS POCKETS
Just wish it was a bit longer
There's hope yet

I have the Adidas Genderless skirt, which is fastened with two rather tiny clamps and has no belt loops. I have no problems with it. But I think the buttons on the Davesbrand skirt should be superior. The Adidas skirt has roomy slash pockets, too.

Unfortunately, it is no longer available. Launched in 2022, it was withdrawn after the Woke – Go Broke movement in the US, when companies like Adidas were threatened with boycotts.

The post above from GerdG prompted me to have a look at Adidas again to see what they currently offer in the way of skirts and I found this ..

Some of the Dave’s Brand Skirts look really nice, but they are a little high priced.

Re: Dave’s Brand
They look similar to things I'd do if designing skirts for a make figure, however most are basically following the model of a kilt (apron front with pleats at the back). There are other designs possible.
A skirt hook or two would be a more reliable closure than a button.
Anyway, its good to see someone selling skirts tailored to a male figure.

I agree. The price in Canadian dollars is $260, which looks like about $60 for the skirt and $200 for permission to wear a skirt while being a man. Some of the Dave’s Brand Skirts look really nice, but they are a little high priced.

Damon, if you mean this kilt from Amazon with a detachable pocket, I'm pretty sure the quality of the Davesbrand skirt is much better.Damon wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2026 1:35 am Jamie 001 wrote

I have worn mine a couple of times, and even though it's very affordable, I wouldn't say it offers much value for money.

Even when worn with tights, it clings to the legs in a strange way.

Re: Dave’s Brand
Yes the sizing is a little confusing. They use a lay flat method in cm. So if you take Xl for example the waist band will measure 46cm when laying flat. 46 x 2 = 92 so 920 mm. 920 ÷25.4 = 36.2 inchesTonautBrom wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 10:50 pmI’m a bit puzzled by the sizes, I need to understand how they work. What size is yours, and what waist and length is it? Ta in advance.
The length is 58cm or 22.8 inches

Re: Dave’s Brand
I've been interested in buying one of these for two or so years, but the price has put me off. Nice that they have lowered it a bit, or its just SEK that is doing poorly against EUR atm. I like the Barker design one, and the pattern/tartan on the Benito one looks nice too.
I have the red variant of the "banned alternative" amazon kilt, its cheap and not kilt like at all, but I quite like it. I have not had any issues with it sticking to my legs but my wife says it "hangs wrong, looks like a skirt", my one rather has a tendency to splay out into more of an A-Line, considered getting the green one too, the red colour is a little to flashy on days you would rather go under the radar. (Bought mine at a sale on EMP though).

I really like the addidas skirt. It would already be on the way if it wasn't for the £60 price. I like the idea of wearing it with a hoody as well.chilpaul wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 7:52 am The post above from GerdG prompted me to have a look at Adidas again to see what they currently offer in the way of skirts and I found this ..

I also like banned alternative skirts and all their stuff. As for Dave? Not for me.
