As usual the only complaints about this white house dress code, which has little effect on the real world are from women. On the other hand, now maybe people will purposely dress differently just to go against trump.timemeddler wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2026 6:37 pm I had enough after he got republicans onboard with the idea of gun control on the basis of mental illnesses.

Such as? Everyone on this earth is an individual and totally unique, it’s got nothing to do with your sex. I am not suggesting that the terms men and women disappear as that’s biological, what I do want to go is rigid gender expression tied to biological sex because that’s the entire problem. People should simply be who they are and express themselves however they wish. I personally love a dress and stiletto heels, but I know that some men on here wouldn’t wear a dress or heels. It’s all about choice and there are no right and wrong answers. It’s what works for you. Women have done that for decades.Barleymower wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2026 4:32 pm I'm all for rejection of labelling of men and women, masculine or feminine. Buuuuut..There are undeniable differences between men and women and not just physically.

Statistically, yes, there are differences. But there are overlaps on every metric. Society makes labels, but I like showing people how little they mean. Males, females, and those who reject such classifications should be free to ignore those boxes.Barleymower wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2026 4:32 pm I'm all for rejection of labelling of men and women, masculine or feminine. I don't pretend to understand the female mind or anyone else's but I do listen to what people have t o say. Take Alison Armstrong for example. Here is a clip from an interview with her:
https://youtu.be/efNDLBsmMWk?si=fyi7r7yBCJLNBcIu
For me the important part is where she says "We (women) must survive".
Here is another clip:
https://youtube.com/shorts/QAH5R0-Qbcw? ... 2Esrpc5oCx
The important part here is "We need to feel connected".
If threaten a women's environment, her way of life. She will defend herself. If she doesn't feel connected with you as a man she will try to make that connection or leave you for another man.
It is just clothes and feminine / masculine is a construct but men and women are not the same animal and unless we make our women feel safe and connected we will run into conflict.
Don't get me wrong we want the same things but I feel that unless we fully understand the mechanisms we are dealing with we will never get anywhere. It won't have escaped anyone's notice that there is a gender war going on. The fourth wave feminists are all about inclusion, the gender critical feminists are about exclusion. There is a fire smoldering away and at times it has become a raging inferno. Parliament here in the UK has taken action and the same is happening in America - even worse. What are we going to do? Put the fire out or throw cold water over each other?steamman wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2026 9:36 pm

Yeah, Jamie and everyone else who has drifted this thread.jamie001 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2026 3:36 pm Skirts, clothing, makeup, shoes, and other fashion items do not have a gender. Gender may or may not be a totally human construct without any relevance to how we choose to cover our bodies.
I have a question, that goes beyond theory because the scenario already exists.
What will you do if your duly appointed government enshrines that dated puritan draconian concept into law?
The option to sweep the subject under the carpet, change the discussion will not exist as it does here.
This isn't about POTUS, Trump, MAGA or any other regime.
It is most certainly about politics, men in skirts and individual freedoms.
Anyone, male or female who claims that clothing and politics are not and never have been inextricably linked is plain wrong!
Avoiding the issues in this way solves nothing and changes nothing either.
If that brings Strike 2, so be it.
Steve.

Barley, It is also important to remember that not all brains of men and women follow the same stereotypical brain chemical development. For example, on psychological tests that I have had during counseling, my brain is much more like a woman’s brain. I also have a very high 2D:4D digit ratio. We cannot lump all men and all women into stereotypical boxes regarding brain development and behavior. I know that you understand these concepts very well. It is important to not get caught up in videos that attempt to define how the biological male and female brain works because we are all individuals. Those studies are probably in the 90 percentile, but what about the other 10 percent where I and other men are that have a more female brain?

Jamie I am aware of what you say. The binary system works for a group of people of indeterminant size. That is, there are those in that binary group who know they don't fit but they hang in there for fear of the consequences. The rest of humanity can't function in that group at all. They have no choice but to rebel.jamie001 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 3:31 pm Barley, It is also important to remember that not all brains of men and women follow the same stereotypical brain chemical development. We cannot lump everyone into boxes or believe everything put up on the Internet. We can and we should listen to what people have to say, everyone's opinion is valid even Donald Trump. If we refuse to listen to those in opposition to us, we are no better than them.
Btw I was shouted at by a female tramp on the tow path walking my dog. "He's wearing f***ING women's skirt, put some trousers on you weird c***". This attitude runs deep western society. Everybody no matter how low or high feels they have agency over what men in particular wear.
