Hats draw attention to the top of the head. A hat is larger than anything else I have mentioned, so I have started to think in terms of a skirt-and-hat rig.
You may be on to something......IMHO..... :) :hide:
Yes, a hat is relatively large, and a skirt can have a large surface area. So I can imagine an onlooker's gaze going from hat to skirt, with everything else being secondary, or tertiary. So, a skirt-and-hat rig

I am not sure I can cope with this!!! I got the handbag and shoes memo, but hat as well could be a deal breaker. :) I am working with the "black goes with anything" rule as far as my hat goes......
Daily, a happy man in a skirt...

Mouse your bush hat is part of your identity and works really well, I think i've only seen one outfit without it and that was halloween so doesn't really count.

I like those jackets. It would look great with Mouses bush hat. :)

Black is a neutral that goes well with most any color.

As for shoes, online information indicates that tan colored shoes go well with a diversity of colors. I will keep that in mind.

I find the Safari jacket appealing. I never cared much for the other types of jackets, but those are considered necessary for more formal outfits.

Except....

One video indicated that you can dress up a Safari by adding a tie.

I will retract that comment. How would I know, if I don't know the details of a man's rig?

I beg to differ. I wear bracelets with my outfits during spring and summer and I don't think it detracts from whatever outfit I happen to wear, nor does it draw attention away from my ensemble.

My view point started to change when I thought about skirt-as-peacock-tail, and, later, more so when I started to think about skirt-and-hat rigs. :D

I now think that a rig can work as an ensemble with several different focal points. Some of these, such as hats, may be more prominent than others.

Without delving into the fancy sleeves that have appeared in womens wear, I think mens shirts could be rendered more interesting. Not only by adding brighter colors, but by a bit more variety in sleeve length. For example, more use of cap sleeves.

BTW, while I find fancy sleeves interesting to look at, I don't believe that I am qualified to comment on them. Perhaps some members could make such work well in a rig, members who have a special eye for clothes that I lack.
