Hi and thank you

If you're new to the Cafe, please grab a seat by the potted palm, settle down with a nice big latte, and tell us a little bit about yourself. Please also look here for forum principles and rules.

Hi and thank you

Post by Harri »

I have been lurking on here for over a year and tracking back on many different threads, so thought it high time to say Hi, but above all thank you for the stories and thoughts shared. I have appreciated the vulnerability shown by many of you and the honesty over your struggles and concerns. It has been most helpful in helping me settle where I am at as one who has always been attracted to unbifurcated garments and other items from the women's department without being able rationalise why - now I can. Primarily it is the freedom of movement and comfort not found in conventional so called men's clothing, my go-to being leggings and a mini t-shirt dress or a kaftan/thobe style robe at home or a sarong cover up on a Mediterranean beach.

Hi Harri

Welcome to the cafe, where men have choice in what they wear.

Please make yourself at home and post as you wish. After you have posted a couple more times, your username will change to blue and you will see all of the site.

Hi Harri,

Welcome to the Cafe.

I think you will find the only real restrictions to men's fashion freedom are of our own making the general public does not care what you wear.
A full time skirt wearer since 2020.

Welcome, Harry.

Yes, comfort and freedom of movement are my primary motivations, also.

It would be nice to know what part of the world you live in if you are comfortable sharing a general location.

Hi Harry. My journeys into skirt wearing started off with wearing leggings and a mini dress or long top then it progressed to wearing skirts, dresses and fishnets and nylon tights.
My name is Arty. I’m a guy with a passion for wearing skirts, dresses and tights and a hobbiest musician and artist. 8)

Welcome from another part of the globe -- you will find we are all over the place; so come on out and enjoy. As said here, Pura Vida (Pure Life) from Ticolandia.

Hi Harri.
:welcome:
Glad to hear you've already found the site useful and hope that you will continue to contribute.
As others have said we are from all over the world so it would be nice to know which country you are in, however more importantly enjoy your skirting.

Thank you for the welcome.

Originally from London, I am currently living in a small village in East Anglia with my amazing wife of 46 years with whom I share two children and five grand-children. There is a MIS back-story to be told at some point.

There are a number of us who live in the east of the UK. I live in Cambridge.

We have meet ups from time to time and it would be great to meet and exchange back stories.

Hi Harri, I’m fairly new to Skirt Cafe. I have only been out twice now in public wearing a skirt and I’d say it’s mainly down to the guys here who through their posts have made me realise I can wear a skirt in public with confidence. Today I’ve travelled to London on the National Express wearing a skirt. Mouse has spent the day with me as we walked through London and Tate Britain, sat in a pub for 2-3 hours ( which I still can’t believe I did) then spent the late afternoon and evening in the National Portrait Gallery, all the while I wore a satin skirt and tights. And it really felt like great progress from just wearing some items at home when no one was around or feeling awkward about wanting to wear something but not knowing why or where to go. Mouse has been a great mentor and great friend. So I’m sure you will find Skirt Cafe has something to offer you in whatever you hope to achieve.
