Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.
White is the current color of my yard. It is not caused by snow.
It is from a sleet storm that came raging through my area.
North Texas is not prepared for this kind of severe weather.
As of this writing, it is 16°F and the wind chill is -4°F
The weather guessers think this stuff will be gone by noon on Sunday.
Time will tell. In any case, I'm staying home and warm. At 75 years
of age, I don't have to be out in this "stuff"

I respond-The why is F.T.H.O.I. (For The H--- Of It)
We have flooded roads and fields, coastal damage from high tides and rough seas. Rivers are over flowing and we have missing people due to the rough weather. I’ve got snow tyres on my car that also help when driving in roads that are like rivers. But if we didn’t have the seasons we’d have problems. The reservoirs are now full so come spring we won’t have a hosepipe ban or be asked to reduce our use of water.
Down here in southern Oz, today is expected to be a bearable 33C, tomorrow 44C, yesterday the Oz Open was stopped for awhile due to smoke from bushfires, and Saturday play was stopped on the outside courts due to the heat rule, again over 40C.

Hi Denimini, you are in Qld, were odd things happen, here in Melbourne it's alittle different .
John
Our news today is reporting you had 48+ around Melbourne today with a prediction of hitting an unfathomable 50 this week. We lived in Toorak for a few months a decade + ago -- I can't imagine it. At least you can probably get away with whatever you want to wear, or not, at St. Kilda's. Broken Hill may not be so lucky.

The day we get snow in Brisbane, South East QLD (-27.5°S, 153.0°E) will be a day when climate change is VERY real...
Monday here was 37°C but with about 65% humidity, and in the early evening it became heavily overcast with no wind, and the overnight low around 05:30 the following morning was 26° but with 85% humidity.
I have absolutely no idea what Christmas would be like with snow on the ground.
Inland parts away from the sea breeze were well into the 40°C plus category. Hottest I can recall feeling was 47°C in north west QLD.
