Two weeks....

Post by Mouse »

So a number of us met in Central Birmingham on the 10th of January. Then what happens over the next two weeks?... Well here you are, day by day in pictures, along with where I went and paraded my skirts. Every picture is outside and in public, whether it is in the road outside my house or in central London.

Work is mainly home based in these early weeks of 2026, but as you see, I am out in public everyday, just living my life in a wonderful selection of clothes which I love to wear.

Some of us are just out there everyday living and working in skirts, showing the world that we are normal and skirting is normal for men.

All very nice Mouse.👍
The Friday 23rd skirt looks a bit velvety. I don't think I have seen that one before. Can we have a closer look?

Sorry, the picture got taken quickly on the way out of Tescos and the dark blue velvet looks black. However the skirt is one I bought in April last year and wore on the beach in Aberdeen....

Like Mr Soapsud I too really like the black and white one and the two pictures of it really show how the choice of footware can give very different vibes with the same skirt.

Thank you both. This is a new skirt for 2026, bought in the Roman sale. https://www.roman.co.uk/geometric-knit- ... t-17071108 and has become a bit of a favourite. It is a knitted optical illusion skirt, which looks pleated, but isn't.

Thank you, that is the skirt that Barleymower found on eBay and said I should buy it! My first skirt with big flowers on it.

It goes well with my new blue/grey furry jacket, that Mrs Mouse got me for Christmas.

Tuesday 20th, Cambridge is my favourite outfit. :)

Well done on getting out there to promote skirts, Mouse. :thewave:

Thank you shadowfax. I was out with friends on that day and was very happy in my outfit. The boots were new at Christmas, and that was the first time I was wearing them out for a longer period of time and driving in them.

Thanks for sharing. With your wardrobe I'd still be trying to choose! Looks like a lot of other folk are working from home too -- or are you able to edit out images in the background?

The 8th. and 11th. are good examples for those concerned about asymmetrical hems. I particularly like long red on the 18th.

Thank you, Faldaguy. I think with skirts you need more wardrobe space than with trousers, since there is so much variation with skirts.
Faldaguy wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 4:34 am Looks like a lot of other folk are working from home too -- or are you able to edit out images in the background?
Every image is edited in Photoshop, but only three or four operations are carried out. First when taking the shot I do not worry about framing the shot, so the first operation is image rotation to get "me" vertical, many times this is not required. Second is cropping to produce a pleasing picture, usually of "me" in the centre of a tight frame. Third is resampling the image to get 600 pixels across the frame while keeping the aspect ratio consistent. Fourth is saving and converting to jpeg. The file is then ready for upload to Flicker and then linked in the cafe. The reason you don't see people is because my phone is propped up on a shelf or on the floor against the wall. I am scared to walk away from my phone, so I pick a quiet part of the store or station platform or road/carpark. I also do not want odd people in the back of my shot. If I can get a crowd safely, then that is fine, but you have to be so aware of phone thieves. The underground carriage shots are easy, since I park at a station at the end of the line. The train is there waiting, with all the doors open. You approach from the rear and normal people get in the first carriage they come to. However, if you carry on walking to the front of the train, there are empty carriages with space for a quick photo opportunity.

The long red skirt is an experiment to see if I can wear red. According to Mrs Mouse, not all people can wear red. So far, I think I am doing ok with the red IMHO. It is also another excuse to get out my long petticoat.

Mouse,

I love the black/white skater skirt. Your link is to Romans.co.uk
I tried to see if this company was in America. What I found was
https://www.roamans.com/ and it does not have the same spelling
of the name, nor do they have that skirt. :( :blue:

I'm a bit bummed out :(
