Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.

However, Latest reports locally here show me holding my own with a commanding lead of eight years and counting.
At our recent (Jan 4th) celebration of our 57th anniversary I was quietly humbled and encouraged by the turnout to the party of friends several years my senior, all of whom can still sing well and several of whom can also play an instrument.
Only yesterday we attended an afternoon tea party thrown by mutual friends for a lady celebrating her 80th. When I commiserated with her, her comment was: 'I don't DO age anymore'......
Our hosts had just swopped their ageing upright piano for a perfectly gorgeous nearly new Yamaha baby grand. Our age group without exception enjoy a good old sing-song so my test drive of this new charger consisted of a succession of songs from the shows and trad. mostly Irish parlour songs. The Beathes and Abba also got a look-in.
Congrats! One of the strange quirks of statistics is as you age your life expectency actually increases!!! So what are you going to do with your next 40 years?
Well, SkD.....In 40 years I'll be a sprightly 124 !!
The last time I had anything to do with that number was while living & working in The Fatherland and I'd equipped myself with a capable 6-pot Audi which could devour hours of Autobahn at 200Km/H or 124 MPH.
My then 20 year-old elder daughter was doing an Erazmus exchange at Heidelburgh Univ., and on the way back after hols. to Germany from the UK we shared the driving . Dozing in the passenger seat I was amused to note that she was indeed cruising at 200Km/H, which the car was comfortable at.
Amusing was that we were still in Belgium where in theory they have much lower limits, but no-one gave a toss! The year was 1988.
