Amazon "Style it on you" feature

Discussion of fashion elements and looks that are traditionally considered somewhat "femme" but are presented in a masculine context. This is NOT about transvestism or crossdressing.

Amazon "Style it on you" feature

Post by Coder »

Has anyone tried this AI feature on the Amazon app? I'm disinclined to upload my picture to Amazon, but at the same time, I am curious how well it works.

Ok ok ok. This feature is unintentionally hilarious. It’s bad - like laughably bad. For instance was wearing jeans and red socks. One of the short skirts I tried on it made my legs bare (someone’s legs at least) and the tips of my socks were red but the top half were white crew tube socks.

I feel like I’m going to play around with this a bit and see what kind of limitations it has.

I guess we will wait and see if your pictures start to include white socks... :)

I have used the system on the RayBan's site to see what various sunglasses would look like on me and that seemed to work OK, I guess much simpler algorithms and the items being portrayed being rigid.

I haven't seen this, but what a great Idea. It probably won't be long until somebody makes the idea work well.

Well, don't get me wrong - it might work well, my photo (with jeans) could have been the issue (although, I had it put a striped shirt on me and it was pretty bad, though not nearly as much so). It probably is best to start with a closely matching outfit, I think? I don't know how much time I want to invest with playing with this, especially since I'm sure uploading one's photo to Ama$on gives them the right to review and do whatever they want with said photos.

These things feel close - but I can't tell if that's because we've started (essentially) from zero "useful" general purpose AI, or if we still headed on an upwards trajectory. I've seen some impressive demos of taking a photos of a product and turning it into a full 360 video - but - the AI doesn't know what the back looks like, and can even make up details, so caution must be exercised.

LOL - half white, half red. A most improbable style as the white started where the cuff of my jeans ended.

I dont know if what I have found is the same or similar but eitherway it was a bit of fun. The App is called Stylar and here is the result:

You have to use the mobile app, I think. I didn't see it on their website.

Yes its the mibile App, i didn't get any ads as such or any add money to get full use of the app. Instead they give you a wardrobe of looks which like to the sellers website.
I was told by my dsughter for using AI.

I am slimmer in the dress than I am in real life. Still good to see what i would look like if I was thin.

Did the app do that all by itself, or did you direct it? It also appears to have given you breasts! I imagine that the picture of the dress it had in its memory was worn by a woman model and all it is doing is a cut and paste job, including waist and breasts. I think the programming has some way to go before you get a real image of what you will look like.

I like the boots.

Yes. The app did it by itself and gave me the boobs. I had no choice in the matter ie picture of a dress from the app library, hit 'try it on' and boom BM in a dress, with a 24 waist and boobs. It also found the matching boots. It's a fun app but you dont have much control.

It is good in as much as you take a photo of a article of clothing, the clothing doesn't need to be straightened out, it smooths the look. About half the clothes I tried on did not look like the actual article.
