Slip sliding away

Post by sellek »

I generally wear knee length or slightly longer skirts and as the weather cools, I am starting to wear long socks or leggings with my skirts. This leaves me feeling I need something more. I have fought shy of wearing a slip with a skirt, slips seem so ultra feminine, slinky, slippery and often decorated with lacy frills. But yet............ I gave them a try and they seem to work, they seem to help skirts sit and move right when you are wearing long socks or leggings. I have managed to get hold of some with no or minimal frilly trim which I am now quite happy to wear and they seem to work well.
I just wondered what others felt about the concept of wearing slips with a skirt?

Yes - I’m i big fan of slips on women and now own a few myself. I find them very sexy to see and to wear. Mine are bought in charity shops. I often wear them at home when everyone is out. But my goal is wear them under a skirt.

The last one I bought had a lace panel on the abdomen and no lace on the hem. It’s satin type material dark inky purple colour and very thin and must have been expensive new. Another is M and S black satin no lace.

The M and S satin slip - I wore as a skirt hiking with tights and quite a few people saw me and smiled. It was just a satin skirt as far as they would have been concerned. I haven’t got any skirts to wear the slips I own but I’m working on it. The Skirtedman has shown us you can wear a slip and a camisole let it be seen and no one seems to care.

Over the years I have owned many slips which I we worn at home and now I long to wear them out in public.

Women wear them as skirts now so why not.. I often see a slip advertised as a slip skirt or a nightie advertised as a slip dress. It often isn’t a dress or skirt until someone wears it as such.

I am very much looking forward to getting some skirts and the longer skirts will give me opportunity to wear a slip underneath, I hope matched with stockings.

Please let us know how you get on.

I wear what were known as half-slips in my youth -- essentially an underskirt. I wear them mostly for warmth and to disguise the male silhouette in thin skirts and backlighting. But they also serve the mentioned purposes of allowing a skirt to move and are often a nicer fabric against the skin as a bonus. They also serve as a life-extender for skirts in that routine use of a slip often allows more wearing's of the skirt before it needs laundry service.

As to lace and frills -- what an easy way to secretly enjoy the 'sexy' side of feminized garments if you are shy about such things. Over the years I've learned to check the my slip length not only against the skirt, but to be above any slits as well. i keep a handful of slips in skin tone, white and black in various lengths to readily have something that works with whatever skirt I'm wearing. I'm happy to buy my skirts at thrift shops; but personally call the line at socks and undergarments; besides, those are easily available inexpensively online and Amazon or whoever will drop them at your door.

I usually will wear the slip with lined skirts as well as those that are not lined, for the same reason that it seems to extend the life of the skirt; but it does mean my lined skirts are oft too warm for some seasons, and exceptions are made.

I don't see any reason to forego the advantages of a slip simply because it may seem too feminine --that is a a precept you need to erase. Nor does it make any sense if you are wearing it as intended, as an underskirt. If it becomes the outer garment, it is merely a skirt of a different hue, and you own your choice as much as with any other garment.

Primark are selling this top and skirt in black, rust red and this turquoise. I think it’s to die for and ticks all my boxes. It’s sexy ultra, feminine and I bet gorgeous to wear. If there was an event I could wear this without being judged I’d be a happy man. It’s a modern example of what women can away with these days.

I think you should look to the vast array of thick warm tights. There is obviously the 100d tights, followed by 200d, fleece lined tights, I could go on, but you get the idea. The warmest I have is a double lined pair where the inner is a skin tone fleece lined tights with an outer layer of thiner black tights. The effect is that it looks like you are wearing normal thin black tights, but you are totally warm.

I have yet to get in to slips, but I have a number of petticoats. The long floor length petticoat I have is very good for keeping warm with, obviously with a long skirt.

Gentlemen:

Please remember that we only discuss clothing that is meant to be seen.
NOT unmentionables or anything that is not worn for public viewing.

You're starting to slide down a very slippery slope, one that this Cafe' was not
designed for, nor will it be allowed. If posts continue becoming "fetish" posts,
idolizing specific items of clothing, formal warnings will be issued.

None of the Admin staff like issuing warnings but, when a situation arises,
we'll do it anyway.

My apologies Uncle AI.

I’m not into denim skirts or heavy material. I’m experimenting with styles of skirts, how and where to wear them. I like the softer materials.

I don’t wish to offend but since joining I have read people discussing wearing suspended belts, stockings, body suits , heels amongst other things. These are all items intended for females which are not seen and which are linked to fetishes.

I do have a fetish for slips and camisoles and I’m looking for a forum to share my passion and to find out how other men manage to achieve their goals and wear their choice of skirts in pubic.

There are Skirted men on Instagram in Europe who openly wear dresses and skirts with their wives to go out for dinner, dancing or to the Opera. One guy got married in a white Lacey wedding dress. Do they wear slips under their dresses. I bet some do and some will have lace hems, feel silky and sexy and some less so. Some members on this forum have stated they have slips which they wear.

This topic was exploring that very subject. Are Slips to sexy or Lacey for a man to wear under his skirt.

I felt that to add to the discussion I could show that Skirts in High Street shops look like slips and tops in High Street shops look like camisoles. So it’s almost the norm, where as 60 years ago it was the short skirts that fashion experimented with.

These days I do not need to go to the lingerie department to buy a slip skirt, as my image was intending to show. These items are front of house. They are my preferred choice if I could.

I hope you understand my point of view and be assured I will respect the cafe’s rules at all times.

I think under the terms on the index heading
and stuff that goes with skirts and kilts
tights and slips should be OK. Both sellek and SatinDea are new members and finding their feet. SatinDea's picture was quite striking in the thread and maybe would have been better referred to in a link.

I myself have no knowledge of slips, but I do have a long denim skirt, where when I walk with some tights, the skirt picks up on my legs and I have been wondering whether to line the skirt, or buy a slip to wear with it. So to me a thread like this, started by a new member sellek is useful, IMHO.

Slips keep me warmer when it's cool. I don't worry about the frills as they aren't seen. Just practical.

I have some thicker cotton slips that I wear sometimes for an extra layer underneath a skirt. They are usually very plain (my preference) and you can find them sold at "shirt extenders" or "t-shirt extenders".
