Re: Sightings "in the wild"
Today in the town centre I saw a guy in a red dress and earrings walking and talking to friends. I was told it would not be right to stop him and say anything. He was walking quite briskly and chatting. He was not trans.
Then in a coffee shop there was a trans women having a cup of coffee on her own. It was a bit sad really so I told her she looked nice.

Re: Sightings "in the wild"
Spent a couple of nice sunny days in Brighton (UK) last week and was quite suprised not to see any men in skirts at all. I would have thought Brighton would be a very popular place for skirting. There were loads of nice skirts and dresses but they were all on women! Whatever is the world coming to ?

Hi Derek I've been to Brighton several times and you are right, skirts are a bit thin on the ground. You are most likely to see some colour around the North Laines from Bond Street and the Lanes on the other side of North street.Derek Plattis wrote: ↑Thu Sep 18, 2025 11:08 pm Spent a couple of nice sunny days in Brighton (UK) last week and was quite suprised not to see any men in skirts at all. Kemptown is gay so you probably wont see any skirts there but a warm welcome is guaranteed.
Churchill Square the main shopping centre is just like any other highstreet in the UK.
The good news though that you will feel at ease in Brighton and the shops are all open and not boarded up like much of UKs seaside towns.

Yes, I walked the Lanes - both areas also along the sea front up to the West Pier and back and then took the bus up the Lewes Road. I love the Lanes - especially "Snoopers' Paradise" - but not a single man in a skirt anywhere.Barleymower wrote: ↑Fri Sep 19, 2025 8:24 am Hi Derek I've been to Brighton several times and you are right, skirts are a bit thin on the ground. In Norwich M&S today (11/10/25) I saw quite a tall ish chap with a moustache and a denim pencil skirt browsing some of the skirts on the ground floor not far from the Christmas stuff which has sprung up on the other half of that side of the shop.

Sitges, not far from Barcelona, also has a reputation as a town where gay people congregate and feel welcome and like your observation in Brighton I've not come across another MIS on the few times I've been to Sitges and yet I've never experienced any negativity when I've worn skirts there or elsewhere in Spain. Perhaps straight men worry about being labelled as gay and gay men tend not to wear skirts - just a thought?Derek Plattis wrote:
