FYI...

To crib a line from Monty Python, "I'm not dead yet!" in spite of my employer's best efforts of tremendous stress (all of if pointless), massive amounts of unpaid overtime, and all-together too much swing-shift work (all, of course, uncompensated). Behaviour like this is illegal in the developed world, and would simply bankrupt the company that so behaves towards its employees. So, I'm just about done with that madness (currently reviewing and actively contemplating a deserved retirement -- it's pretty bad when you can accurately predict the future based on what you've witnessed first-hand), but I'm not about to just saunter off into the sunset, recent health scare notwithstanding).

I just wish I could relocate to the First World, and escape the third without being viewed as an "economic migrant" (which was applied to me in 1982 when I tried to escape the Reagan regime (and failed, finding that the First World seems to have little but disdain for Americans; I'd hate to think how they feel now!)).

So... not dead yet. I'm not quite ready to cash in my chips. My main worry is getting disappeared (because I "look odd" and am reasonably intelligent -- which the current regime finds threatening) by the modern Gestapo and sent off to some other third world hole that's even worse.
