Out today in Cheddar and Wells wearing a khaki coloured midi skirt. Just a normal day interacting with people. No comments made about my clothing style.

Was at Belle Isle, Detroit today with some friends. Wore a burnt orange skirt (Lee UTRA LUX COMFORT WITH FLEX-TO-GO SKORT), black t-shirt, and black sneakers, plus my egg bag. There happened to be a small art fair (100 vendors) and so we spent 2 hours perusing the stalls. Got three compliments on the egg bag, which just confirms in my mind that people seem to like it. Honestly, I don't know why more people don't have fun with accessories. I mean... life is short, enjoy it and have fun. Also ate lunch earlier in the day - pretty uneventful.

I did see another male wearing a skirt (tiered boho maxi, each stripe a different fabric), but not sure how they identify and am not going to presume. But, there was a thin beard, so infer with what you will.

Being a man, and raised to be a man, there is a kind of blindness to a world given freely to women and denied to men.
Pre skirts, i knew I was sad about it but could not really miss what i had never had.

No we really can't presume. Innocent word but essentially means labelling. He may not properly know himself, such is the world of men.

One can still comment about liking the skirt without making any gender preference presumptions.

Very true - though I tend to consider any male-like looking person at least tangential to "our cause". Mainly I wanted to point out that someone who looked like a man in a skirt was there. Whether that was the way they identified, who knows.

Getting to the point at hand - the outfit - that's not a style of skirt I really like/appreciate, and I'm still debating on whether or not I think it was a well put together outfit. Colors matched more or less - but I dunno - something felt off about it. Probably the slightly oversized tank top (maybe should have been more fitted) bugged me the most - the sneakers were ok but sandals would probably have been a better choice.

Wore a tartan mini skirt to see Oasis over at Wembley stadium in London last Wednesday. Rather comfortable outfit to be in. Apart from one woman who told me that she liked me skirt, other people just perceived me to be a guy in a kilt based on the other reactions I had. One, from another woman who said that "I like your kilt, looks amazing" and a woman loudly shout out to her friends "HE'S WEARING A KILT!" while I was on the way back to the train station.

Went for a 2.5 mile walk in town along the rail-to-trail path, wearing one of my SportKilt hiking kilts. It's blue and shorter than the standard male length, above the knee a bit. This couple passed in the opposite direction while saying "good morning" (as is custom on this trail) and their larger-sized poodle popped over and tried to "boop" my hip before they reeled it back in. The wife just laughed and said "she wanted to see what was under your skirt" and we got a good chuckle out of it. I'm pretty sure they've seen me walking in a kilt several times, they looked familiar from my weekend walks.

Earlier in the week I had some errands to run over the other end of the county and wore an OD green rip-stop cotton skirt from Union Bay, I think. Nice pockets and above the knee, not to different from a pair of cargo shorts but the fabric was a bit nicer and less coarse. Good in the heat. Went to Home Depot, the DMV kiosk, and the Pharmacy and didn't feel out of place at all. I challenged myself a bit and popped in at a retro video gaming store I've been meaning to visit, knowing it would involve a lot more interaction than the other places. They didn't seem to care and we had a long chat about physical game collecting these days. So that was a win of a trip all the way around.

Went to do by food shop in Lidl yesterday wearing one of my favourite outfits, black tennis skirt paired with a white and black striped t-shirt.
One compliment received from a woman in one of the aisles that went as follows:

Woman: I like your skirt

Kieran: Thank you

Woman: I really mean it

Kieran: Thank you

Wasn't sure if it was the way I said thank you the first time that prompted her to follow up with "I really mean it" but either way, was nice to hear a positive remark about my outfit.

I had a lovely weekend wearing my new kilt for three days at the Shrewsbury Folk Festival. Mrs TB knew I was going to go for it but the rest of the family (adult kids and partners) and friends didn’t. Once the initial surprise was over everyone was cool about it and it soon became unremarkable. I had quite a few compliments, especially from women, which seems a common experience on here.

There were plenty of other kilt wearers around and one rather splendid guy in the dance tent with a pleated skirt (definitely not a kilt) and red fishnet tights. Anyone here I wonder? :-)

On my way to Minehead today and will probably also visit the village of Dunster. As it is a bit cooler I am wearing a midi length denim skirt.
