Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large
We’ve had some warm and sunny weather lately and I’ve taken to doing some long walks with bare legs and sandals. Most people probably don’t notice my skirt or, if they do, they pass by with no comment but yesterday a lady smiled at me and said “Nice and airy” - just hope I heard her right and she wasn’t saying “Nice and hairy”.

Thanks for the recollection; I don't know if I reported it here or not, but I' had a very similar experience a few years ago -- I recall the Mom and her kids on the street; and a second time, around the school -- but I don't recall the individual, but both expressed appreciation for exposing the kids to alternatives.

I had a nice encounter with a lady dog walker yesterday. Both our dogs are the same breed, hers female mine male and very keen to meet her dog.
That looks airy she said, thanks I said. It's just right for a hot day. Then she started swearing
. Not at me, just langusge she was using.
"I've just back for Anglesey, it was *ucking brilliant"
We had a ten minute chat and parted. I will say hello again if I see her.

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large
We had a Pride march last weekend so, reckoning that practically anything wouldn't look out of place, I abandoned caution and wore a tartan mini skirt with black stockings and a black, somewhat cropped top. It's the first time I have dared to wear stockings rather than tights under a short skirt, but there wasn't a problem and it was quite comfortable. I walked into town in shiny black Mary Janes, but switched to ankle boots with a bit of a heel for the march. It got a little chilly for short sleeves, but I had with me a curious extreme cropped pullover that I found at a Goth shop online, which keeps the arms warm. (My wife did give it some very funny looks when she saw it!)
Our vicar was there with a banner, and had asked me to help with a short service to follow the march, so I found myself in church in a miniskirt (and stockings and heels) for the first time ever. Two visitors were "refugees" from a rather non-inclusive evangelical church, and we had a pleasant chat over coffee. I think for normal church services I shall stick to my usual knee-length or longer, though, and keep the mini skirts mainly for secular surroundings.
On the march there were a few kilts (mainly of the utility type). Also a number of male-born people in skirts and dresses, though I think probably all of these were either transgender women, non-binary people, or drag enthusiasts, rather than Men in Skirts. (I was wearing a "He/Him" badge just in case of confusion.) I had a couple of compliments on my look. Among all the stalls at the ensuing festival in the park, I did wonder whether a stall promoting fashion freedom for men might be a possibility at a future event, since subverting gender stereotypes is generally an acceptable vibe. (In the current climate of opinion, I continue to regard it as a valuable service to acclimatize members of the public to seeing people in skirts and dresses going into the Gents.)

We just got back from dinner with our niece. We hit the same bar/lounge just about every Wednesday night. When the server stopped at our table, he mentioned that he sees a different kilt on me just about every week and asked, "How many kilts do you rotate through?" I told him I mix up about a dozen, depending on the weather. He said they look cool and enjoys seeing them.

Looking good Vic. I will have to look up the Tim Burton exhibition. I said about it to the folks at home and they said a Gorillaz exhibition is coming in August aswell.
Out and about today at my usual 6.30 dog walk I often see a guy running with a pushchair and a small child. Today we stopped for a chat, no mention of the skirt. He couldn't miss it being blue tie dyed witb sequins.
Later i saw some other people who wanted to say hello but I was more concerned about my dog jumping up and then a guy colleding rubbish (not council). His eyes came out on stalks when he saw me

I dress very similar to you in that photo and I love the all black look and that long back skirt. That’s the way I dress most of the time…Only difference is I have a big belly.victor1964 wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 6:44 pm A trip out today to see the Tim Burton exhibition at the Design Museum, London, with my significant other.
My name is Arty. I’m a guy with a passion for wearing skirts, dresses and tights and a hobbiest musician and artist.
