Kilts on temu

Post by Kevino19 »

Hi everyone, this is my first post about kilts. I was wondering if anyone has seen the men's kilts on temu and if they look any good or are they just cheap Chinese kilts? I think they are under £20, has anyone bought one and is it worth buying?
Many thanks in advance.

You would probably be better using one of the Scottish suppliers. They will offer 5 yard 'party' kilts and 8 yard 'casual' kilts. Needless to say, the 8 yard versions hang and move better without costing the proverbial 'arm and leg' for a custom made item. Just be prepared for the 'whats underneath' question and also the name of the tartan.

See the comments today in the Skirts section on "I like this picture" and the ending replies about Temu, etc. You will find quite a few others who have had less than ideal results from them. I am not a kilt guy, so I cannot recommend sources -- but there are some enthusiasts on the site that may help guide you therein.

Even though kilts are the more 'accepted male skirt' it is not necessarily the easiest route to wearing skirts unless kilts alone will fulfill your desires. It seems to be too easy to get "stuck" in the kilt is ok mold, and not get past that initial worry in your head about 'what will they think/say'.\ if a I wear a "feminine" skirt.

Personally, I think the transition from a simple denim skirt -- they look so much jeans or shorts, and that allows a much more comfortable transition to 'whatever you dang well please" as you discover people don't care if you wear skirts -- whereas if you start with a kilt, it is easy to get caught in the thought that their approval is only for the "male" kilt style of skirts. It is that unspoken label that can hamper your journey.

It is good that there is a refuge for the less bold. Kilts are though, a dead end alley.

I know I am writing in the Kilts section and I have no idea what Kevino19 is really into. But I do know a quality kilt is not cheap and lesser ones have issues and oddities. I wonder if a simple Roman standard denim skirt https://www.roman.co.uk/a-line-denim-skirt-17004829 would be more of a solid first step at £26 pound. I use these skirts for work and there are no quality issues. My first was a size 16, which is a little loose on me, but with a a belt no worries. I then bought a second size 14 which is better on me, but I still use a belt. A number of member have these skirts in various colours, but may be for a first skirt, standard blue would be simple, to make that first public step out of the door.

Yes this is more me. I agree with the kilt idea that it may be going down an alley of security.
The denim skirt is right up my street, I did have a denim skirt but it was quite short and didn't suit but a longer skirt, below the one would be good. Thank you for the link to Roman.

This is a thread I started all about working in my first black Roman Skirt http://www.skirtcafe.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=24614, which I bought on Amazon. I would recommend going to the Roman store, since they have sales and you can see their whole range.

If you're looking for something denim actually marketed at men (to avoid certain awkward questions) then have a look at this post I placed from last month viewtopic.php?t=25374. I haven't bought from them but I've just noticed they're offering a voucher at the moment although its still over twice the price of the Roman ones suggested by Mouse.
