Intersex Blume
Intersex Blume
We have had a number of discussions where Intersex was disputed as a thing. I have been following a YouTube channel run by a very open Intersex Australian called Blume. Blume was born a genetic male with internal balls, who looks totally female. There is a lot of first hand information on the channel, with interviews with other intersex people. I find their stories of how they found out about themselves and how they fit into our binary world very interesting.

I had no idea. I thought I did but I didn't. Blume is a wonderful girl who just happens to be a biological male. It really makes you think.

This is a true case.
Being able to get a diagnosis of intersex allowed this member of the Scottish aristocracy to inherit the the family title and fortune.
The assigned gender at birth was altered allowing him to take precedence over a male relation which would not have existed for a female.
Whether that decision was correct is moot, but there can be no doubt that finances and status played a major role.
Without those, there would never have been a question in the first place.
The male contested the inheritance and failed, the criteria behind the decision have never been made public, hence the speculation and drama.
Steve.

Some of the interviews with other intersex people that she has done, makes you realise how complex the whole subject is and how badly understood it is as well, even by the medical profession.Barleymower wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 3:44 pm I had no idea. I just like her totally open way she is setting about improving the education of the world through her own situation, having come to terms with the body she was given. In a lesser extent, some of us are doing the same thing, we have a male body, but we are not going to change it, we are going to adapt the clothes and situations to live how we want.

Re: Intersex Blume
Proven scientifically that gender is nuanced, not simply black and white as some people believe.
I had a discussion with a female friend on Friday and she asked a pertinent question.
Would you have transitioned if the opportunity at an early age, under 15 years?
No wish nor aspirations now, but balance of probability, 1970/72 50/50.
By 16, my boy bits were very precious indeed, but the urge for the clothes never faded.
The hard part was the time it took to realise that I could have both and happily too.
That realisation tops anything that could be discovered anatomically or physiologically.
I like the skin and the skirt I am in right now.
