I get advertisements from Noctex:
https://www.shopnoctex.com/collections/ ... erra-pants
Has a weird half-wrap skirt. They also sell a pair of shorts like this.

Re: Skirt over pants
No this is in the whatever category.
I recall that ripped distressed garments got a pasting here in the past..
No criticism, just pointless as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Skirt over pants
The forum thread title is "Scooter Skirt - probably more for the ladies".
To avoid the necessity of reading the thread on the e-scooter forum, here is a precis.
The starter of the thread made up a long skirt from a windproof fabric and lined it with a warm fleece material.
Intended to be worn over jeans whilst riding the e-scooter.
They adjusted the length of the skirt whilst sitting on the e-scooter so that it extended down to their footwear.
They also incorporated a kick pleat in the back which was long enough to allow them to spread their legs wide enough to get the soles of their footwear onto the ground, outside the e-scooter's footboards.
It does not appear that they intended to walk around in the skirt when not riding the e-scooter.
I noticed though that the forum thread's starter only appears to wear the skirt whilst actually riding the scooter. Not for walking around in when off the scooter.
Seems like a sensible idea to wear a skirt made from an outer, windproof material with a fleece lining for warmth inside.
The thread doesn't appear to mention making the outer, windproof fabric of the skirt, waterproof too but in a climate like here in the UK that might be a good idea?
Note:- I pasted in the precis in italics above to add clarity, the day after I wrote my initial response to Grok's post.

Wasn't looking for MIS material when I stumbled upon this. I was looking for information about e-scooters. Noticed lately that a number of people are using such for transportation here in Seattle.

Re: Skirt over pants
As I recall, somebody posted about an insulated skirt intended to be worn over trousers. For extra warmth during winter.
It would seem that there are a few men-who may otherwise have no interest in MIS-who might wear such rigs for purely pragmatic reasons.
Re: Skirt over pants
I got a one from my wife for Christmas, but there are very many models of them, very good for mild negatives down to maybe -15°c while moving(walking or shuffling snow etc). Colder than that it's probably best to use proper snow pants anyway.
