I’ll be much closer to retirement, and while my Natural Breast Enlargement has been rather rewarding, I’ve often had the upcoming five year mark as a sort of benchmark for me. I really am unsure. I’ve lasered my body, so thankfully that is behind me. I might venture fwd in changing myself. I might not. Right now I’m happily in the middle, but mildly striving for more. While I’ll never change my name to Darlene, I’m happy where I’m at right now. I had the tractor out the other day working in the woods while wearing my kilt. I’m at the point now where I despise pants. I’ve disposed of all my male underwear, but I’m conflicted on my long term situation. Half of me is content being halfway. There is a side of me that wants to dip my toe in the hrt waters, but Herbs have been very very good to me. It’s tempting, but it’s a whole new ball game when it comes to pharmaceuticals. I think where the likes of EJ Johnson or Eddie Izzard are, is my happy medium. Likewise, all my male underwear is gone, as that is a topic avoided here, I will leave the rest to your imaginations but I do feel cute and desirable now when I really dress up. I bought myself a wig the other day, but that's my limit so far, and I am venturing out in pumps as I get the hang of walking in a shoe with a small heel like a stiletto. I thought about the HRT route, but as non binary and genderfluid is becoming more acceptable, why put myself through all that? Growing moobs would be nice like nzfreestyler, but then I think if I did that I would go for full transition. It's the cost, losing friends / family and social impact, but I admire freestylers like Jeff too. I do wonder where things will be, but I seem to get less disapproving looks when in a dress or skirt now.even shopping for makeup or underwear has become easier and a less furtive, shifty existence as before. I have no fear in labels or whatever people view me under, though our little corner of LGBT could do with a few more younger visitors...

I hope there will be more Kilt options available, or are more widely accepted. I search non-typical kilts, as traditional kilts are just waaay to manly for me. Plus, they just look bulky. I prefer kilts that are more similar to skirts, than traditional kilts. I took a hiatus from this site for a while and when I returned, it looked like the membership had doubled. Hopefully that will continue.

I bought a tartan pencil skirt which fits like a dream and goes with my pink tights. The girls were so helpful. Going skirted to the shops to try on clothes is so much easier. I know this site mentions kilts, but I think very few traditional kilt wearers would want to be seen with the likes of me I think they are on X Marks The Scot and other such places.

I see numbers have grown, but still very few online, or people who post once and disappear I think young people may prefer platforms like Tumblr or Instagram which is too much for this site to compete against. I think people ask advice on a skirt, venture out in one, find no issue, but don't return. Others pass through on the way to transition and treat this as a quirky stop off. Some just lurk. I just think it's a little bit too much of a niche for most people. I have had no issue with others but perhaps it just doesn't appeal to the mainstream, whereas kilts are seen as traditional, and everyone is aware of genderfluid fashion.

It is worth noting that the first Kilted Scottish Highland Regiment was raised nearly three hundred years ago and The Traditional Scottish Kilt is still
worn by The Royal Regiment of Scotland , which is the last of the Scottish Kilted Highland Regiments.

The Traditional Scottish Kilt is still popular for The Pipe Band Displays and the Scottish Highland games in both U K and America.

There are private Kilt wearing events held in the U K including Scottish Highland Weddings, Scottish School Balls and Scottish Country Dances .
Each of the old Celtic Lands ; Scotland , Ireland , Wales and Cornwall have their own Traditional Kilts and registered tartans.

The Traditional Scottish Kilt is still a fashionable male garment after 300 years, ......It is reasonable to assume the popularity of the garment will increase
in the next 6 years

I'm not sure about tumblr, I know they really thinned the LGBT herd when they started banning porn. I know played with it [tumblr] a little, but I abandoned it with the adult content ban. I don't like the idea that the internet is getting sanitized and sterilized (and G rated) thanks to the great puritan push taking place these days. I didn't like how they did their core base, similar to how Flickr did theirs last year.

I have been wearing the Traditional Scottish Kilt and also been dressing as a Man In a Skirt for more years than I care to remember.
Out on the street my M.I.S. sightings in the wild have not averaged more than one per year .

At the Kilted events , up to 50 correctly attired Kilted Gentlemen have been present. These events have been anywhere between 20 and 700 miles from my home .

With the current economic crisis folks will have to cut their spending on their fashionable attire and possibly decrease the spending on their outings ,
so the popularity of their M.I.S. activities may not be noticeable out on the street over the next 6 years .

This is the situation in the US as well -- there is no level of employment or income security, and that's making any sort of experimentation somewhat risky for much of the populace. I hope for better things, but my analytical side cautions against that.

Both Flickr & Tumblr are now no longer under the control of the CIA. I was a serious photographer for years, and I’d spend hours every night on Flickr. They ruined the site when it switched to data mining.

In the mid 80s I thought men in skirts would be casually common by the 90s. Wrong. In the late 90s, when Tom Manuel started Tom's Cafe I thought, "O.K., another few years". Wrong again. Somewhere around the year 10 I was sure that, at last, men were coming to their senses. Not so much. Here we are at year19 and and men in skirts still rare as hens teeth. Men are too deeply afraid of the opinion of the herd to color very far outside the lines.

Perhaps, but I do believe that kilts seem to be catching on. I see them more and more. I find it rather peculiar that the more kilts I see on people, the less "cool" I find them.

I've also found (many, not all) kilt wearers to be somewhat unapproachable, meaning they are not one for conversation, and tend to carry themselves with a certain smugness. Perhaps it's because they may view me as "one of those [ugly] trans people". I dunno.

I find nothing rebellious about a man slipping on a kilt.

As for guys wearing off the peg "womens" skirts, it seems that most gravitate to the realms of "non-binary" and other transgender labels.

Once in a while I happen upon a regular guy wearing a non-kilt skirt though. It is rare.

My experiences are in accord with yours, though I think at least some of it is that "gendering" is much, much harsher on men than on women, so men crossing the fashion aisle require an "excuse" or at least a "reason" in many minds, and since the gender narrative provides that, people often run with it.

When women started crossing the fashion aisle, no excuse was needed other than women deserve the same freedoms men have, including not having to wear skirts if they didn't want to. Skirts were seen as part of a woman making an appealing sexual presentation of herself, and that came to be understood as not something anyone had a right to compel a woman to do, especially not at work. Skirts and dresses have not lost that association, especially not in the western world. To this day, that is a strong reason for women to wear skirts instead of trousers, when they do. They may always wear trousers to work but when they go to a party they often wear skirts or dresses.

Skirts will normalise for men when that sexual-display association fades away.

If you are adventurous make your own.

I'm trying to make a "kilt" out of a ladies pleated skirt. To make a lighter weight kilt.
It s going pretty good to this point.
I cut off the binding along the top edge.
It was 27 inches long originally.
Have been picking out the pleat stitching on both sides of the vertical seam. Those areas will become the aprons. The inner apron side will not be full length. There is just not enough material in the skirt to make both aprons full size.
I have enough pleats left to make sure they go from hip to hip in the back.

I have cinched it on with a belt, it looks fairly good.

The machine resewing part is where I have stopped at. I need to do the sewing of the top edge and add my leather straps, buckles and it's done.

Some kilties will cringe, observant ones will notice the shallow pleats, and lighter weight wool Tartan

Nice and light for hot weather.


Other than the labor I put into it this kilt will only cost me about 14 dollars.
DIY ERs get the largest pleated skirt or kilted skirt you can find. You need that extra material for you aprons.
