But then that is no fun - having a day licensed to skirt !
For sure, it's fun to be edgy.

You always look good, Jeff; but I question why you don't just buy your own clothes, rather than wearing some random woman's

Just because a garment is traditionally associated as "womenswear", primarily as a result of social conditioning, doesn't (in my book) mean they are women's clothes if they are bought, owned and worn by a man as a man.
Point well taken, my friend. Heh!

I doubt that I could not get more out and about than this example.
I had reason to buy a pair of trousers yesterday. That is something that I have not done in about 4 years or so and did not own a reasonably smart pair that still fit.
Guy in skirt, trying and buying trousers (male), how much more can the aisles be crossed?
There is a reason for this choice, which will be shared in due course.

Well put. I just hope the reason wasn't bad. (The last time I purchased a pair of trousers it was most certainly very, very, bad.)

I've done that a time or two. No big deal to me.

...
Steve.
When we moved the company office this last May I didn't have any jeans...so I went to Lane Bryant and bought a pair of skinny jeans. They worked well enough, and I may have worn them once or twice since.

I might even, if needed, look for a pair of more business- and suit-like trousers there in Lane Bryant now that I've a Lane Bryant jacket or two instead of my more traditional suits and blazers. :D

Anyway, sounds like fun and keeps (someone, maybe) guessing.

Hi Guys,
Thanks as always for the comments.
I just found it ironic that I was shopping for trousers in a skirt.
No sadness but the occasion is a funeral for a member of my extended family. I decided a skirt would be wrong.
However, there will be an addition to my personal story because it will add a new aspect to my journey.
That bit I will share later.

I have to admit that the scenario is somewhat ironic. Been there, done that, got the pants.

I'm sorry to sear that, please pass along condolences from another "extended family" member.
However, there will be an addition to my personal story because it will add a new aspect to my journey.
Juicy, or at least a bit salacious?

Whatever happens with it, sir, best of luck!

Bought a tan Liz Claiborne faux suede pencil skirt from JCPenney which I took for a spin yesterday. Because it was cool, I added black tights to my outfit and the combination worked well.

Indeed it works very well. Where did you get the sweater? I like the looks of it.

The sweater also came from Penney's under their house label, St. John's Bay. It fits well and is both comfortable and affordable.

Made my first long trip out wearing tights. It was about 48 degrees out and I needed a little warmth. They are ribbed sweater tights. They are a little thicker than plain tights but not quite thick as lined or thermal. Normally I just like to go about my business without any commotion. I think that a skirt doesn't always draw that much attention because in a fast glance it could some times look like baggy shorts. The black tights definitely get more notice. I feel I got a lot more looks Than with just a skirt.

I had to sit down with one lady clerk to work out some details. . While I got no response from her I feel I was the center of attraction for the rest of the people in the area. It might be all in my head but for some reason I feel the tights make the outfit more feminine.

I am working to convince myself that whether you wear socks or tights there is no difference you are still wearing a skirt.

Doc recommended I wear compression hose for a slight edema around the ankles, they worked and still work with OTC "medium" support. Getting tired of beige, I tried sheer black, white, gray, and various patterned styles. Hotter under trousers, I switched to shorts whenever I could. Only one friend said it looked 'gay' and left. Others may think it, but don't say it and others know me better. Legs are legs. AND under a heart rate monitor, I gained a little over 30 minutes MORE endurance on long hikes on very hilly terrain.

Fast forward.

I always loved the girls at school when they wore black tights under their dresses. Way cool.

I had to go into the office Friday night because I inadvertently hit "Shutdown" when trying to "Reboot" while remoted in. I was more or less in what I'm wearing now: beige support hose, black pencil skirt with black half-slip for friction-control and a long-sleeved black knit polo shirt under my gray jacket. All of that came from Lane Bryant. The black Brooks Addiction Walkers came from Ken Comb's Running Store. The lights in the lobby are almost all off, just desk lights at Security, where one of the night guys said I was going to get cold wearing shorts. It actually has to get closer to the mid-30's before I really need to add tights or leggings to the support hose.

I can't really say that I get more looks when wearing the tights or not. I sometimes see an older lady giving me an 'evaluating' look and some guys frown if I happen to turn and catch them at it. But then for the past couple years I've been in black pencil skirts, skater skirts, tulle skirts, midi skirts, maxi skirts, mini skirts and thrown in some bright blue, white, denim, khaki into the mix as well as a running skirt and some skorts (mostly for the gym). I may have acclimated. And in some scenarios I wear a kilt instead of the skirt, depending on my audience.

Maybe it is that I haven't worn socks in years, figuring I've got support hose on so who needs socks?

I think it is mostly in our heads. As has been said here many times and many places.
