Unisex look
Unisex look
With the exception of having a suit coat on backwards ...
I think this unisex look has possibilities.

It would have been nice if they had more pictures.
Oh well, I posted the link above and am heading out
on vacation for the next week or so.
Hope you enjoy the look.

Now I know what to do with timber off-cuts
My name is Anthony, please accept me for the person that I am.
Re: Unisex look
A Waste of Time? I respectfully disagree.
Yes some of the clothing is just too weird for
the average person to wear, but even though
identical garments were worn, male was
clearly male, female clearly female.
It is proof that it is not the choice of clothes
that identifies a person as male or female, but
rather the over all presentation.
If society ever starts to recognize that, skirt
wearing men could become just as common
as skirt wearing women.

Re: Unisex look
I guess this fashion debate is a little like economics; "trickle-down" vs. "bubble-up". Ultimately it takes both, IMO. But I also think the thing that would most help the average (skirted) Joe would be to see skirts/kilts to become "street" wear for the rising generation of young men. Seems to me that starts more fashion trends than the runway ever has. So I guess I'd put more value in "bubble-up."
Too, as for economics, I'm sick and tired of being "trickled" upon.

Re: Unisex look

I like these skirts. (assuming that's what they are... could be really big trousers)
Not sure what's up with the sandals. They look like they could be a bear to walk on, and probably not very comfortable. You sure won't sneak up on anyone!

Still, looking at the models and the poses... it is interesting to me what people are doing around the world to make money while I'm busting my knuckles under chicken fryers....

Somebody's trying to channel older Japanese style and up the size into Western territory.moonshadow wrote:Not sure what's up with the sandals.
If you're busting your knuckles, are you using the right tools? Also, just in case, don't drag them; that lengthens the healing process.Still, looking at the models and the poses... it is interesting to me what people are doing around the world to make money while I'm busting my knuckles under chicken fryers....![]()

Come on.... we make moonshine in car radiators........ "are we using the right tools.."

Nah... I've gotten better. Now I let the new guys bursting with testosterone show off their manlyness...
Why just a few weeks ago, three of us were working on a tortilla machine, one of the bolts got a burr in it, and seized the thread. We were able to extract it only about half an inch. I decided I wouldn't fight it, and just take a saws-all to it as we can also apply a new nut and bolt anyway....
But no... one of my colleagues decided to show off... "let me show you how it's done Andrew...."
Okay... I'll stand back and watch.... As I watched the veins pop from his head, I knew what was about to happen.....
wait for it... wait for it...
POW!
Bold head broke off, wrench went one way, my colleague went the other, fussing, cussing, and looking for something to punch as he nursed the hand between his legs...
I 'bout fell over laughing....

"Uh huh... uh huh.... now what?"
Re: Unisex look
Those skirts look nice, indeed something I'd probably wear, but I'm unconvinced by the tops. The shoes, however, look less than suitable, and tall enough to be a hazard to my head.
moonshadow, your story had me laughing quite a bit, though I had to hold it back a bit. Fortunately I've had enough practice laughing with a full mouth that I wasn't in serious danger of choking. Thanks for a good laugh.

Just trawling some threads I'd missed. Don't you mean "just as rare as skirt wearing women?" (N.b. my emphasis in the quotation)PatJ wrote:A Waste of Time? I respectfully disagree.

Those sandals, are called geta; having lived in Japan, I've worn a pair before, tho I can't see their appeal. They are still worn in Japan during summer festivals and such. There are different style of geta, and those are just one type. There are these other styles, too:

The zori are pretty comfy tho, just a little weird getting used to having the thong right in the middle of the sandal instead of over to the side like most modern flip flops.
