Re: Henrik Vibskov's skirt
I think I'd wear it. The terribly baggy shirt and coat are covering the top of it. I wouldn't wear those.

Re: Henrik Vibskov's skirt
As for the skirt OK not much of it is visible.
Now for the rest of the ensemble - MY GOD what an abomination !
A suit coat worn over a what appears to be a Nehru jacket over the skirt ?????
And then the three layer head gear ???
Finally the dress shoes with multi black & white sox on bare legs ???
I need a strong drink - make that a double - I have a headache just looking away from that !

"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Re: Henrik Vibskov's skirt
What has happened on his head? Have they run out of places to store hats, it looks like the model is wearing three? Overall the look is utterly hideous and completely fails Carl's oft-cited "believability test".
Can't really see the skirt due to the messy layering of other items, what can be seen looks like an OK granny length skirt; nothing to get excited about.
Have fun,
Ian.

Do not argue with idiots; they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Re: Henrik Vibskov's skirt
Overall bizarre, but interesting how the three layers of suitcoat, tunic, and skirt deemphasizing the skirt, even with the eye-popping socks so near the hem. I wonder if this sort of thinking could soften the entry to skirts in general.
The multiple hats look is pretty weird, though. Somebody went overboard with the layering concept.

I can't embrace the sloppy look. It's like he got pulled through a charity donation bin and that's what stuck. The skirt with a nice bulky sweater would look nice.
You don't get to judge me by your standards. I have to judge me by mine.

I looked at Antoine's photo and adjectives came quickly to my mind (sloppy dowdy shapeless messy ill-balanced) but it has already been said by quicker posters than me.
No, this kind of thing will do nothing to encourage anyone to wear a skirt -- not even a woman !

The skirt look ok, the rest is diabolical
Re: Henrik Vibskov's skirt
For the life of me I just don't know why they bother. Presumably the young model got paid. I just cannot see a penny in return on the horizon resulting from such a show.

Re: Henrik Vibskov's skirt
The term "Gawd-awful" comes to mind. Why do designers insist on showing the most hideous outfits? Their choice of bizarre-looking models doesn't help either. If they think creations such as this are going to make men keen to try a skirt, they are sadly mistaken.
Take an ordinary good-looking guy and dress him in a basic but good looking skirt and that is much more likely to interest men and their influential SOs. Compared to today's women's wear, the look would not be anything to write home about but when shown as men's wear, the look would be ground-breaking.

Too many layers, too many non-matching colours, awful socks.

Re: Henrik Vibskov's skirt
I have yet to see any runway fashion that the old guys on here didn't poo-poo. Taken as a fashion package, I think it worked well, much better than most of what gets modeled on our elder correspondents. My complaint with the look is the insistence that designers seem to have on using those pointy-toe oxfords (what we used to call "fence-climbers") on skinny models with skinnier ankles. To my eye, the shoes and socks combo looks clownish. As for the rest, I would wear it. I like the loose layer look.

I have to say, i totally agree with all your comments. This look is weird. All Henrik Vibskov work is weird.
The theme of the collection was "massage in spa". In the middle of the fashion show there were models lying on massage tables and covered with sheets. Actually it looked more like a mortuary than like a spa
