Wikipedia says:
  • 2600hz is an organization that builds free and open-source software for communications configuration and management.
And whatis.com says:
  • 2600 is the frequency in hertz (cycles per second) that AT&T formerly put as a steady signal on any long-distance telephone line that was not currently in use.
But I still don't get it. "Not interested," is that it?

There's a short history of "['Phone] Phreaking" also at Wikipedia.

In one sentence, 2600Hz was the frequency that AT&T used as a controller in the days of in-band analogue switching to perform different functions, specifically to disconnect trunk lines. Much "creative" use was made of this.

Already tried clearing down the cache without success. Still doesn't work. Having said that Cltrn, your last link did work, thanks.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

This is perilously close to being off-topic, but I think they send out some sort of session cookie and then check for it when the browser asks for the image. Then later, no cookie, no image. It's probably a scheme to keep other Web sites from using their images, or whatever.

2600 Hz is the frequency of the "repeat" character in a ZVEI selective call mobile system used mainly in taxi"s.
I used to design dispatch control systems for taxi companies , so I am familiar with these old systems.

BTW, I get "referral denied" here too.

Your explanation still doesn't explain why that would be a post response. Inside reference, I suppose...

As to the link the URL, yeah, something is screwy with that. It seems to be booby-trapped so you can't see it without it's surrounding page. Try here:

The link didn't work for me either, so I googled the series and character names and found images of him. Easy-peasy.
Keep on skirting,
