Picture Problems

Post by BobM »

For years I have used Webshots with satisfaction. I have an album there with hundreds of historical pictures (of which I own many of the originals) of boy's skirts and dresses. Over 350,000 hits later Webshots managment has decided that a good thing needs to be screwed up. Webshots is 'transitioning' into the pay site: "Smile". Naturally the new program is buggy as all get out, and they want me to pay for it. Not likely.

What hosting services do you guys find easiest to use?

With Webshots I just went to my album, copied a link, and pasted it in here. Presto. But I also have Picasa and can't seem to get anything to post out of it. Copy and paste doesn't work either. I think it would be nice if this site had an 'upload img' link that would allow direct upload from the home computer.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

I use flickr. Some of us use Photobucket... Either site works very well. Flickr does have the ability to create sets and collections. The only caveat is that the free version has a maximum of 200 photos. For unlimited photos, it's $25 a year for a "Pro" account. I've been using flickr for 4 years, starting in August '08. Pretty simple to share an image from flickr.

There is a way to add photos directly to the site. The Upload attachment box below the message box on the posting page.

A guy from the German forum www.rockmode.de posted a link to what I believe is similar to webshots.
Here is the link http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/53 ... erich.jpg/

I don't know if this "rockmusiker" pays for it. Hope the link works.

It does. All my pics are loaded directly from my home pc.
Below the box where you type in, is another that says 'options' and 'upload attachments'. Click on the 'upload' and you can, well, upload up to 3 pics per post.

Yes, I too have my photos on Flickr. $25.00 for unlimeted uploads is fine by me, and one can put up a short video too.
There I am also "Jack Williams".

I use FREE AOL. You can do nearly anything with it. It replaces photobucket, email, web searching, basically everything anyone else does for free or sometimes $$ too, like real.com etc...
I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.
