Ryder Cup

Post by skirtingtoday »

Comment "tweeted" on the Ryder Cup seen on the BBC website:-
McDowell clatters away 1st tee shot of 39th RC. Furyk follows suit. Locals point in wonder at Euro fans in kilts. "They're wearing skirts!" @tomfordyce (at approx 1:35pm UK time)

Wait till they get to Gleneagles! Loads of kilts there - including me!

A few years back we had the Ryder cup here at the K club in Straffan, Co. Kildare, a stone's throw from my 'Castle'. It's one helluva jamboree and lots of people I know capitalised by renting their houses out to parties from abroad (mostly Americans) for the event.

It'll be an impressive meet at the 'Home of Golf', Gleneagles & I expect they'll be playing tartan balls as well!!

I will be there as well - think I'll HAVE to wear a kilt - was going to be there anyway before the incredible turnaround to not only retain the cup but to win it as well.

May I say my own congratulations and "Well Done" to all the lads - an incredible evenings of sport!
